http://capegirardeaucvb.org/rush.htmlRush Limbaugh comes from a family of conservative, high powered attorneys. Grandfather, the late Rush Sr., served as President Eisenhower’s Ambassador to India. An accomplished attorney, he continued practicing law after celebrating his milestone century birthday.
* Rush’s uncle Stephen N., Sr., is a federal judge appointed by Ronald Reagan. His first cousin, Stephen N., Jr., sits on the Missouri Supreme Court.
* His brother David practices law in Cape Girardeau, where he and his wife are the proud parents of four children. David also serves as Rush’s legal representative.
* Rush credits his father, the late Rush, Jr., for his political philosophy. Rush learned at an early age to speak his mind. He was a champion debater. Whatever he believed in he contended passionately. At age 13 Rush III developed his dialogue skills while shining shoes at College Barbershop. He could hold his own on any political issue of the day. Although his father did not immediately approve of Rush III’s career choice, he lived to see the triumphs of his role in the political arena.
* Millie adored being the mother of the country’s most popular radio talk show host. She admitted that her son is controversial and provocative. In support of her son, Millie claimed that she was more than a Ditto Head, “I am ‘The’ Ditto Head!” She spent evenings spinning the satellite dish trying to keep abreast of political news.
* Rush’s admittedly checkered career began in his hometown, Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he spun records at KGMO as “Rusty Sharpe.” Although his outspoken ways have taken him from job to job, he held onto his never-say-quit attitude. He has broken numerous broadcasting records while creating the image he has today.
