"Islamofascists." We are hearing a lot about them from the right.

I hate that word. It is used by the right to lump together terrorist groups like al Qaeda and dictatorships such as Iraq while Saddam was in power. While both may be evil, these are two different problems which required different solutions.

Lumping these groups together just acts to make people more willing to accept the Republican line that the invasion of Iraq was related to 9/11. These are quite different groups which see each other as enemies, with Iraq having had nothing to do with the terrorist attacks on the United States.

2. Frank Gaffney's Been Test Balooning This For A While

Yep, this replaces "Commies" in the Red Scare playbook of the wingnut right and neo-con. You replace Russians with Saddam and OBL and his "terrorists" and you label any and all who sympathize with that with "Islamo-Fascists".

To him this removes the religion and puts it in a pure ideological/political thing. This gives that old Cold War warm and fuzzies to the wingnuts who need something to hate.

It's obvious, this regime has decided to completely retach from reality by running the Iraq=9/11 play again. Let's see how well this one works now. You can only bounce a dead cat so many times. The never come back as high as the last time. (BTW...dead cat bounce is a business term)
