I think several of our candidates can beat Bush. But if we want to be certain, Clark will be on the ticket. Doesn't matter whether as VP or P. The stupid people in America think democrats are soft on security. Clark fits the bill.

Bye Bye George.

1. Nobody that knows Dean's position
thinks he's soft on security. Yeah, they're stupid, but we've got a year to try and educate the morans.

If that's your only reason I would respectfully disagree.

4. Good luck on educating the public beyond
symbols. Symbols communicate much more effectively than anything. As wrong as it is, right now, democrats equals soft on defense and security. You can educate all you want, but the symbol carries too much weight.

Clark brings a symbol with him. A real military uniform with real medals. The antidote to the democrats are soft thing.

Kerry has excellent military credentials, but his worried look erases that as a symbol.

3. It depends.
Kerry, for instance, already has military credentials, and since he is boring and crusty (no offense), I suspect he would go with the fresh young-looking (he is 50 years old, believe it?) Edwards to be his 'Robin'.

Dean should pick up Clark, no question, given Dean's deficiency in foreign policy experience.

Gephardt is an interesting case; I'm not quite sure who pairs with him the best. Maybe Graham, to give his stiff campaign some teeth and Florida.

5. I'm not a Clark fan, so he'll have to prove to me why he should be on the
ticket instead of just as Secretary of Defense, which he is qualified for.

I don't have a VP in mind right now, but what we need in the White House is less militantism and more commonsense. Clark doesn't do that for me.

6. Oh, phooey!!!
The only reason that Clark has been hustled into the race is because the DLC is horrified at the prospect of a DLC outsider like Dean getting the nod in the popular race primaries. It's not that Dean is some howling liberal (he definitely isn't), it's more that they are terrified of losing their grip on power within the party.

Clark would be able, if only because his brain has not yet atrophied. However, he is a military automaton, and should be considered in that light. I will support anyone who gets the nomination, but would prefer to see a non-DLC candidate get the nod.

It's time for the right wing branch of the party to let go. They've managed to encourage the party base to stay home and sit on their hands rather than make the effort to vote for quite long enough.

Other than that, it's still "Anybody but Bush!"

7. Yeah!
After all, they've only managed to win the last 3 presidential elections, we really need to get the DLC sponsered candidates out. They gave us 8 years of peace and prosperity with Clinton, and almost gave us Gore for 4 more. If it weren't for that lucky break in Florida a few years back, thier candidate would be the incumbent!

9. Absolutely. Plus, I believe Clark would be a dynamite US president.
I definitely would not support him if I thought otherwise. Clark can beat *, AND save the world from * fallout. BIG TIME.
