9. Wait a minute.......not so fast!
This is a MUST READ for those who believe in our Constitutional government.
Touch screen voting machines, without a paper record of the vote, has been the talk of the town in the U.K, France, Germany and yes even Russia!!!
Our , not so free, Bush controlled, media sources are afraid to openly discuss the issue! WHY???
If election 2004 were fair and honest, G. W. Bush will LOSE!!!
No way can the Republicans can cover up the Bush Administrations failed Economic policies!! The entire Middle east is going up in flames! Iraq is a sink hole for our troops and Bush is still trying to justify his war of aggression!!
Why are they sitting on their hands in Washington???
They believe touch screen voting, without a paper trail, will be the way to go in 2004!
If you think Florida in 2000 was a scam, wait till 2004 it will be a national scam!!!
Scream, holler, contact every one you know. If we don't stop them in 2003, we might just as well re appoint G. W. Bush now! Save a lot of money!!!!

And all of the repukes I have spoken with are either disgusted with him or have been neutralized and won't say anything positive about the guy anymore. Though there are a few die-hard fans of the chimp.

A few even agreed that he won't get re-elected!

The poll numbers are not good for him. I just hope that they stay that way for the next eight months or so.

Doesn't this feel good? Let's ride it while it lasts!!!

27. I agree--I don't see a free fall but a slow descent
with still strong support among Repugs and split views from independents. A slow descent may plateau, or with some slick moves and luck, he can move up again. The populace remains ill-informed (even the MSNBC article describing the numbers is slanted in *s favor, especially toward the end) and until that is turned around, I am counting on nothing.

35. question
When I first lurked on DU some months ago, I read lots of threads about Bush's approval ratings being 70%, 65%, etc, and virtually everyone was saying "those polls are fake! they only poll repukes! the mediawhores rigged them!", et al, ad nauseum. So that begged the question in my mind - if his ratings drop below 50%, will the polls still be bogus, or did the pollsters "wake up" and start polling "real people"? :eyes:

Can't have it both ways, my friends.

41. Contradiction? Not necessarily.
Edited on Wed Sep-24-03 09:35 PM by DrBB
I'm not one of those who has claimed the polls are bogus. But it seems to me perfectly consistent and logical to maintain that the polls have been heavily weighted in Shrump's favor and still are, and therefore if they are showing the Flying Chimp below %50 despite this ongoing upward bias, that means the actual numbers are even lower. All the more reason to celebrate.

Where's the contradiction?

44. it was a general question
I wasn't aiming it at you or anyone in this thread in particular. But I distinctly recall a majority of posters (not a majority of DUers, just posters in a specific thread) braying about bogus polls, and I thought to myself "when those numbers inevitably come down, watch how many people will convert to celebration mode and swear by their authenticity".

By all means, celebrate, becuase I feel vindicated myself that we're on the winning side of history. :-)
