Ok i was thinking.. what are your thoughts.. identity thief and outsourcing
notice how they are having an upsurge in indent thief as of late.. its going right along with the credit card companies outsourcing all their jobs overseas..
do you think that there is a tie to the two?
and do you think that terrorist could use that info somehow?
i saw this on the news last night and my mom called me straight up and said "you've been saying this for so long now and now others are too.. you aren't totally crazy" lol :p thanks mom ;)
but seriously ...
what do you think?

1. I think it's more that both are just symptoms of lazy greedy CC companies.
The 9/11 terrorists had all the money they needed from the Saudis - they didn't need to open up a credit card.

2. Congrats on making it into the "not totally crazy" category
If I were a terrorist, what would I do? Well, a terrorist would know that an overt attack would be a big mistake. So, I'd do one of two things. I would do nothing, and sit back and watch George Bush finish destroying America, or I would organize a ring to steal millions of credit card accounts and other financial info and launch an economic bomb against our system.

You know, if you want to get your asses blown to Kingdom Come, there's a dirty bomb attack, for everything else there's Mister Card, etc.

3. I think they are both effects, not cause and effect
The cause is the increased speed, access, and affordability of the internet and databases in general.

The wired culture makes it easier to access lots of data with a few keystrokes, and makes it easier for companies to transmit data/do business overseas.
