1. Haven't watched it yet
It's waiting on my TIVO. Morgan Spurlock is amazing. SuperSize me was a great movie but 30 Days is wonderful. The first episode was the best television I've seen in years.

6. Agreed 30 Days is such a good show.
A reality show about reality, who knew?

It's on FX Wed nights, and is worth your valuable time.

2. I didn't see it but I heard it's a good show
A friend was telling me about a part when the Christian an is pretending to be Muslim and trying to get people to sign a petition against profiling. Not one person agreed to do it and many were rude to him.

3. I taped it last night to watch today
I saw the episode the previous week of this show and thought it was well done. I like this Spurlock guy. He has a good ability to tell a staory it seems. I havn't seen Supersize me yet or the first episode of this show which I wanted to see where he supposedly tries to live for 30 days on minimum wage.

4. Couldn't watch all of it; got to part where he was gonna pray
but was agonizing over if his praying in Arabic would inadvertently blaspheme his beliefs in the Holy Trinity and Christianity in general.

What happened ?

5. prayer
He finally went through the motions during the last Friday prayer meeting, but he held a cross with beads (kind of looked like Rosary beads, but I don't think the guy was Catholic) while he prayed.

The episode was awesome!!! This is something all right-wing fundies should have to go through!

7. and a righties responce to this show:
I saw part of the first one (about the min.) and it was so biased I had to turn it off. The guy obviously has an agenda. I could go and do the same thing and get totally opposite results.....but if you like that sort of entertainment...

9. How so?
I'd like to know what you think was biased about it? Obviously they can't be 100% like minimum wage earners. To me, his agenda is to wake people up to see that earning minimum wage is nowhere near enough to live. He cited the high divorce rate, showed how medical bills are nearly impossible to pay, and that he couldn't even imagine having kids earning minimum wage. I have to think you didn't give it enough time. This is a great show trying to open people's minds to things other than themselves.

When he was on the Daily Show the other night Spurlock said next week's show was the best yet. I think it was a fundie going 30 days as homosexual or something similar.

16. Congrats to you!
I only hope yours doesn't cry as much as mine does!

I was thinking they should do a 30 Days with a newborn. Problem is somebody would have to give up their newborn so it probably wouldn't work ;)

12. I watched it, and it was very good.
You really get to see this guy struggle with his assumptions and prejudices and then watch as he is forced to deal with those same assumptions a prejudices from the point of view of a Muslim. I thought is was an excellent episode.

14. I saw it
I thought it was really good. I was actually pretty surprised that the Christian guy didn't seem to realize that Islam and Christianity are actually pretty closely related.

Another thing that I found interesting was how committed the Muslims in this community were to their religion. They actually followed the doctrines of their religion too. A lot of Christians (at least the ones on TV raging about gays) seem to just ignore the rules they don't like, while still having a "holier than thou" attitude.

Also, the Muslims seemed very respectful and tolerant. They didn't get on the Christian guy's case when he didn't feel comfortable praying, and I didn't see anyone bothering him about bringing the cross to prayer either. And when they did have an issue, they seemed to be very civil.

I saw the episode about living on minimum wage too. That one was very good as well.
