Now that approvals are below 50%, wouldn't you expect the major news networks to now say "a very unpopular president" every time they mention a program that is sought by this WH.

Can dems expect an equal number of "a very unpopular president" to match the quantity of times we heard "a very popular president."

3. Like father, like son?
As I recall, the father was also a "very popular (war-time) president".

Approval ratings for Senior went from 90% to 36% in less than two years.

5. That's yet another mark against the Chimp - that association with his 1
term Dad! At least the elder ape was elected (I think)!

8. Future Presidential Riddle?
What is between two Bushes and between two Arkansans?

Bush (41) - Clinton - Bush (43) - Clark

4. My jaw dropped months ago when a major mag (I think it was)
Had a headline regarding the Smirk's plummet which read: "He's still loved - just not as much."

Loved by who? His immediate family? This was the equivalent of the line in Spinal Tap when the band's manager denies that Spinal Tap's popularity is waning, replying that he believes "that their audience has simply become more selective."

10. He's in a real tight spot
if he tries another war/poll bounce, the public will see through it. thanks to his being caught about iraq and uranium, he lost hat option for the forseeable future. and the absolute arrogance of rw talk guys like hannity and scarborough plays against him now. they actually add to the public dislike of him.

unless the economy turns around magically by next fall, he may in for one of the worst defeats ever for a sitting president.

11. Robert Hoyt
has a wonderful album, and one song is about Rick Springer (who busted up a presentation to Reagan)....one line is

"The Great Communicator...The greatest Liar of our Time"

This refers to The Gipper, but I think Gip's been surpassed by Chimp.
