I consider myself a Google master, but alas, I have failed miserably! If anyone can help me, I'd very much appreciate it.

For the past few nights I've been trying to find out about Kerry and Clark's Silver and Bronze Stars. What I'm looking for is the actual award citations, and I'm just not having any luck at all.

Can you help?

But I've already read that. I was looking for the actual citation for Clark and Kerry's awards. I don't know if you're military or not, so don't take this as me being condecending, but there is a citation that accompanies awards of this nature. They describe in some detail how and why those decorations were awarded. I'd love to read them.

What can I say, I really like shit like that. I'm a History Channel, Discovery Civ, Disc. Wings, etc... junkie. :)

2. Just curious, but why?

Award citations are often full of all kinds of silly language having very little to do with the actual award.

5. Nah, they're not too bad

At least they tell where the incident occured, what year, etc... If you read my reply to DTH you'll see it's just because I'm interested in that kind of thing.

I of course have my own citations and shit. I have copies my grandpa's medal citations, and other documents. I don't know, I just dig that kind of thing. I assure you, there's no malicious intent here at all. As a matter of fact, I think it's bullshit that I should feel the need to even say that, but unfortunately, that's kinda how things are around here these days. Everyone seems to be keeping one eye on their own backs to avoid having a dagger thrust into it.

Basically, I was curious how they received these decorations. I'm pretty familiar with the Kerry story. I don't know if it's the Silver or Bronze story, but it's where he beaches his craft and kills the veit cong guy who had the grenade launcher. I don't know how he got the other star. And I have no clue how or where Clark got his. If you have any info, I'd love to hear it.

I know that he received the Silver Star because he continued to command his unit that had suffered a VC ambush after being seriously wounded and having no actual obligation to continue to command. That's what I read in the article, and I bet he got a Purple Heart along with that Star.
