1. The reality is that they're all in it for the duration -- the names can't
come off the ballot.

If you still want to vote for Uberroth and whomever else (I think Issa is still on the ballot too), you can.

If you stop running, you have to spend a million dollars just to let your supporters you aren't running.

2. As much as I disagree with McClintock politically
I have the utmost respect for the guy. He sees right through this Arnold bullshit, and he's making a helluva statement about it. None of it matters anyway, as Davis is certain to beat the recall.

5. I find him frightening. He has an automaton facialexpression which matches
his "push button, extreme right wing position comes out of his mouth" speaking style.

8. You don't need to agree with ...
or even like a guy like McClintock, but as you say, he deserves the respect of being a serious candidate.

Arnold is joke, and the debate proved that last night. The debate is the last nail in Arnolds coffin. People are waking up and realizing that Arnold is a nothing more than a recognizable name.

They are recalling the Governor because he is not doing a great job. More people are realizing that Arnold is going to be much worse than Davis.

I predict that McCintock will be the front runner (or close to it) by the time the election is held.

I also predict that the recall will fail.

Cheers
Drifter

10. In my opinion,
He won the debate last night. Came across pretty good even though I don't agree with his policies.

4. This is GREAT news!
And Arnie's ego is too big to drop out so let them pull votes from one another. Oh yeah, and Issa's saying vote "No" on the Recall. Ya gotta love that Republican circular firing squad.

7. wonder if Issa will back out of that effort
which is embarassing to him - not only because it is the ultimate reenactment of the adage: "Be careful what you wish for" (er... no folks... now i don't WANT the recall), but also for his transperancy. He doesn't want (himself) or someone else to run against an incumbent democrat in 2006. He should really learn how to mask his massive ego - especially when he is going around trying to guilt someone else into bowing out 'for the good of the state'; while when he got out he did it in a manner that convinced no one (with all those bitter tears) that he was bowing out for the 'good of the state. If he wasn't before - he has now got to be the biggest laughing stock - a political footnote for the history books - in the state.

6. When you're running against nothing, you've got nothing to lose

Even Republican voters should have a viable alternative to being stuck with a buffoonish neophyte who can't think on his feet. It's bad enough that McClintock may become known as the man who couldn't beat Arnold. I think it would be even worse if he were to become the man who was too chicken to TRY to beat Arnold.
