Here it is folks (MUST READ)
And so it goes. People who want the Democrats to aggressively pursue the truth about 9/11? Conspiracy theorists. People who want the Democrats to aggressively pursue the truth about Florida 2000? Whiners who make us look bad. Atheists who feel insecure about the apparent sanction of discrimination against them? Sorry, we're more scared of the Christian Coalition than we are worried about you. Minority voters who think they're being taken for granted? Sorry, can you wait a moment, we're studying that Nixon Southern Strategy thingie, gotta carry the South. People who want to hear more Democrats reinforcing Kennedy's "fraud" comments? Well, Bush is right, they are uncivil, and Ted's an embarrassment to us all. That's the pattern: ask not what the Democratic politicans can do for you, ask only what you can do for the Democratic politicians, and if you have a problem with it, you must want Bush to win. Even if your complaint is that nobody's fighting him, you want Bush to win.

6. Leper! Outcast! Unclean!
- What are you...some sort of 'extremist' lefty?

- We MUST be like the RWingers in order to defeat them. Issues are unrelated to winning and fistfuls of cash more important than social programs for the lazy poor.

- Welcome to the New Democratic Party. Leave your bleeding heart at the door.

8. Jean Carnahan, New Democrat
New Democrat Jean Carnahan was a double loser in 2002. Not only did she betray humane values by voting for Bush's horrible war, but she also lost the election anyhow. More's the pity for herself, the Democrats, and the people of Iraq.

12. Dems who vote like Repubs
...deserve to lose. We did not elect them to fall in line behind the Republicans. Nor did the rest of their constituency.

If we really wanted to have somebody represent us by voting with the Repubs, we would have voted for a Republican, not some "me too" Repub-Lite DLC Demoncrat.

Did you also notice that those Dems who ran well to the left of their Repub opponent won their races in 2002, DESPITE the fact that the DLC-controlled DNC refused to help them out financially?

It that isn't a hint and a half for their sorry asses, I don't know what is.

11. Hey, Terwilliger!
As usual, you are right. The Dems and Repubs have been in bed together for so long they don't even notice it anymore. And when someone points it out, the pointer is treated like a some kind of brain damaged traitor. The hardest thing for most Dems to do, it seems, is look in the mirror (and some Dems, if they did look, would find no reflection there at all).

16. what do you mean "here it is"?
This kind of rhetoric has always been there.

And as ususal, it doesn't answer the question "why not vote for Kucinich or Sharpton?"

I still don't get why people don't avail themselves of these fine options, the likes of which we don't usually see in presidential elections.

20. Sure the rhetoric has been there...does that make it right?
But lets get down to brass tacks...

This website started up (in large part, or, at least, started during) in the middle of (s)Election 2000. When John Kerry says "get over it", I have a serious problem with anyone on this board who says that the election was stolen. Shit or get off the pot.

They all made a HUGE mistake in establishing Bush's authority in the last War on Iraq (ongoing) and it's a crisis. The only credit I'll give Dean and Clark is that they were nowhere near that vote. Kucinich voted no on IWR in the House.

9/11 was ONLY profitable to George W. Bush and the Democrats can't get past their plans for universal health care. WE WANT a full, bi-partisan, open, secrets only at vital interest, investigation into what happened that day and why.

These and many more...holy crap! Did you hear Dean?

22. So vote for Kucinich
by only paying attention to the "worst" of the dems, you are leaving Dennis hanging. To only focus on the mainstream dems, you reinforce the myth that Kucinich has no chance, that he's not electable.

And by ignoring Kucinich, you marginalize him as not a "real" dem. In fact Kucinich is not a radical by any means.

18. Here it is.
a little under a page of dialogue from Douglas Adams
(various links, including this one: http://wso.williams.edu/~rcarson/lizards.html)

"It comes from a very ancient democracy, you see..."

"You mean, it comes from a world of lizards?"

"No," said Ford, who by this time was a little more rational and coherent than he had been, having finally had the coffee forced down him, "nothing so simple. Nothing anything like to straightforward. On its world, the people are people. The leaders are lizards. The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."

"I did," said ford. "It is."

"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"

"It honestly doesn't occur to them," said Ford. "They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates to the government they want."

"You mean they actually vote for the lizards?"

"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."

"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"

"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard," said Ford, "the wrong lizard might get in. Got any gin?"

"What?"

"I said," said Ford, with an increasing air of urgency creeping into his voice, "have you got any gin?"

"I'll look. Tell me about the lizards."

Ford shrugged again.

"Some people say that the lizards are the best thing that ever happened to them," he said. "They're completely wrong of course, completely and utterly wrong, but someone's got to say it."
