White House Scrambles to Stop Criminal Indictment of Rove
From "Capital Blue"

By DOUG THOMPSON
Publisher, Capitol Hill Blue
Jul 6, 2005, 05:55

The Bush Administration is scrambling behind the scenes to stop a criminal indictment against Presidential advisor Karl Rove for disclosing classified information to reporters in an attempt to discredit a White House critic.

......

Bill Israel, a former reporter who teaches journalism at the University of Massachusetts and who taught with Rove at the University at Texas, says Rove could have easily set up the Plame affair.

“Rove once described himself as a die-hard Nixonite; he is, like the former president, both student and master of plausible deniability,” Israel says. “Consequently, when former U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson challenged President Bush’s embrace of the British notion that Saddam Hussein imported uranium from Niger to produce nuclear weapons, retaliation by Rove was never in doubt.”

I don't think even the Corporate Media with all its whores can stop this!

1. Capitol Blue? Stay away.
Capitol Blue has a history of printing outright lies. Please stop posting their articles. They're not worth reading and only serve to mislead people.

4. It appears that everything that we're reading and hearing from other....
...media sources is pointing toward a criminal indictment of Rove. Posting or not posting comments from Capitol Blue is not going to make any difference, IMHO.

5. Gotta watch those Capitol Blue articles
They tend not to pan out, if history is any guide, but I sure like the sound of it.

7. Not hardly.
You obviously don't know anything about him. He stops for no one.

8. I read some about him. Impressive (Gambinos, Ryan of IL), but I just
can't see Rove - Bush** appointing a tough prosecutor unless they made a deal up front with him.

10. And I can't see Fitzgerald accepting any assignment with
strings attached. He originally got the federal post in Chicago on the recommendation of former Sen. Peter Fitzgerald (himself a maverick, and no relation) over the objections of the Republican regulars.

I can only assume that Rove and Co. thought they were too smart by half, and that they didn't count on either their own fallibility or Fitzgerald's thorough tenacity.

11. The current Gop underestimates everything. Like, how we'll tolerate
permanent bases in Iraq and unending war. We won't. Period.

they underestimated the power of the internet to subvert their party line.

and they underestimated who badly america would react to haliburton and broken/dead soldiers.

They're not connected to reality, and that costs them, every step of the way.
