Rhetorical: "where have all the (real) cowboys gone?
or were they just in Hollywood to begin with?

Where in the hell are the whistle blowers?

Are they that spooked?

I could see if the war was going better, but my god, strike while the iron is hot.

2. Real cowboys exist.
At least in Colorado and the High Desert regions of eastern Oregon.

As for whistleblowers, they are there. What we don't seem to have is a media that will present their story.

3. the ranchers prefer to sterilize the land of
predators and competing wildlife. Also the Herefords don't need much help. Unfortunately a payroll is a minus in the profit /loss column. Sad that most of this happens on public land

8. cracked elbow, two concussions, blow out my knee and shoulder
Plus just little bumps and bruises. I was a pretty serious wrestler too, which compounded all of that stuff and more.

A dislocated shoulder is the worse thing on earth. Lord, it is bad.
