bush will use this tragedy to justify iraq
I hope people realize that by following the bush policy he has made the world less safe

Will the people here wise up, or blindly follow what has helped create this chaos

My prayers go out to the British

1. Or maybe this will demonstrate that Bush's allies are in danger...
and that Tony has failed to keep his countrypeople safe.

I feel for our friends in London and hope that DUers will exercise sensitivity toward them in the discussion of this tragedy.

4. you and I know that
but the morans in Congress, and this country don't

instead of uniting the world after 9/11 against terrorism, he has perpetuated it

2. politicizing this so early does not help matters
only much later when the dust has settled and the UK begins to recover from the horror will I consider who gets the blame.

5. this is NOT politcizing
it was the same BS we heard after 9/11

It didn't matter what the hart/rudman report said, or what the clinton administration warned about al queada, we had to stand behind the president

sorry, he is to blame for this chaos

instead of uniting the world after 9/11 and go after the terrorists, he started a new war, and divided the world

we now have a war of generations

6. Sure, bush fucked up after 9/11
but this just happened and I see no purpose to start pointing fingers and laying the blame when so little information is known at this point.

It's stupid to do it when no one knows the story. Hell, no one can say Al Qaeda had anything to do with it so early.

9. I never said it wasn't terrorism
but since NO ONE knows the facts at this point I prefer to wait before I lay blame at ANYONE's feet.

3. Hell..
he'll use it to justify everything he does. Today is "7/7" - it'll flow nicely with "9/11" in his speeches. :grr:

Stay safe, friends over the pond..

10. Have to fly with you on that
The way the 7/7 flows so nicely, and how this will likely be used. If this president had no problem using 911, he sure as hell won't have any problem using this. After reading what Cindy Sheehan and her daughter said about him, I don't think he he'd have a problem using anybody.

Okay, I'm finally seeing this on CNN. Still saying power surges. Oh sure, a power surge shuts down the entire subway system. They spend a minute or two on the story. No, they're not coming clean on this yet. Damned cowardly news stations; how the hell did these people ever make it in this nation?? Lying cowards. For what little I ever thought being an American meant, they aren't even that.

Now they're saying explosions. Another two minutes worth of that report. Finally, a reporter on the scene. God I am so sorry.

11. I'm English and sitting watching this i think it will split the nation.
There will be those so outraged (understandably) who will support increased restrictions on civil liberties and further adventures abroad, and those who believe that Iraq etc may have perpetuated this and view the exact opposite.

I do think we are a stoical rational type so there won't be many in the former camp.

If only we had spent the billions on border control instead of destroying Iraq.

Those poor people on those buses have now lost their lives. My heart goes out to their families this morning.

7. This Means The Next Attack Is Getting Closer
Death throes? At least 10 explosions currently reported in a city that was all but in "lock-down" for the G-8 is now a mess. Just the type of anarchy this regime claims they're protecting us from.

The "insurgents" are picking off our friends right and left...alientating this regime and the American people in the process.

Any goon who says it's better it's "over there" than here, should be flogged. To think this can't happen here...or that this inept kleptocracy is keeping us safe should be publicly ridiculed!
