Bush/Blair and the Terrorists want. They want a population in fear. I'm hear in England and i think its awful. My thoughts are with all families that have been affected. But i'm going out now to carry on with my day and will not be affected by fear

I will also not be duped into fear by Blair so he can take any more of my liberty. I'm going to carry on with my life as normal.

We must resist this being used to whip us into a frenzy of support for this fucking war - the reason why these explosions have happened this morning in our capital. Already "Al Quaeda" is being thrown around on the television. I want Blair to come on the tv and explain the reasons why they should want attack our country but I fear he will do the opposite. I'm not in London today but I could have been and if any of my family were hurt I would hold Blair responsible, as he is responsible for the deaths of those who have suffered today.

I'm American, but I've lived in the UK for most of my adult life, 19 years. I've applied for citizenship so I can have dual British-American nationality. This country is my home now, and I'm not going to let anyone make me afraid to live my life.

It's not in the British mindset to let something like this defeat them. Years of bombing by the Nazis and the IRA, and yet these bastards behind today think this attack will make the British people fall to pieces? It will have just the opposite effect. Like you, I expect real, widespread anger once the immediate shock wears off. What won't happen here is people hiding in their houses.

But I don't think the general public will be afraid, more stoical than anything else. I've seen London during a bombing campaign before, and I suspect the attitude of the general public will be to carry on as normal. I'm not sure the media and politicians will be like that though.

I'm not "having a go", but it's different than just "being in England" if you're thinking about your friends, desperately racking your brains to remember what train they would've taken to work this morning.

However, now that I've found out my friends are safe, the fear I had for them has turned into fear for what Tony's govt. will do in reaction to this event. You're right - while this is an emotional time, it's also a time to pay really close attention to what's actually going on.

The tabloids tomorrow will be unbearable.

The timing of this attack makes me skeptical. Odd now that with what little spin there was on Rove in trouble and bush's ratings failing ratings these items will be once again replaced with massive coverage of a medium level terrorist attack.

I'm not. I'm incredibly sad for Londoners right now and I'm just hoping the death toll doesn't get worse (please please don't let it get worse).

I'm incredibly angry that because of bush's "war on terror," terror has actually INCREASED worldwide by a large amount.

And I'm angry that Iraqis are killed EVERY day and most of the world just yawns.

But fearful? No, not really.
