Bush speaking on the BBC from Scotland
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 07:36 AM by Solly Mack
Looks like an idiot. Sounds like an idiot.

"Contacted Homeland Security folks about what took place here in London and for them to be extra vigilant back home...what's happening here is incredibly vivid to me....on the one hand you have people working on AIDS and poverty, and people killing other people on the other hand...contrast between those (like him) who care about human rights...and those who don't....we will not yield to the terrorists...we will spread an ideology of hope to replace their ideology of hate..."

3. He looked and sounded like a deeply traumatised man.
Which he probably is.

The thing every politician dreads happened on his watch.

It was a human reaction, for once.

4. What an idiot

His lack of leadership and careless words will get us all destroyed.

Am I missing something or does he think "the terraists" did this horrible thing because he and Tony were trying to help the people of Africa!?

9. It's being said that it happened because of the G8 taking place
not sure if they mean it's because of aid to Africa...

8. Maybe Junior...
...needs to master remedial tasks--like riding his bikey--before he tries to handle public speaking.

Someone shut him up!

I'm sure the people in London find no comfort from his words.

Why is he talking?

15. Rather than show a depth of feeling
for the innocent victims of the evil of violence, Bush could only reflect on his wants and needs. Yet this comes as no surprise: this is a man who cares not a bit for the innocent victims of his violence in Iraq; rather, he projects only his wants and needs there. This is a quality that I often encountered in working with forensic cases as a psychiatric social worker.

he is so (in)famous for - since that's the only thing he has.

18. It is so out of place .....
he exposes himself as lacking in the emotional qualities that mark one as a mature human being. It makes me long for a rational president. Strange to say, but even Ronald Reagan could have carried this off today. As an actor, he appreciated that there were times to send a message by "not saying." Bush doesn't. It's all about him. He doesn't have a clue of what it means to be human.

20. My fingers crinch in the typing but you're right - Reagan would have
conveyed a sense of deep concern and caring...without actively promoting his agenda

24. As offensive as his agenda was,
Reagan knew he was an actor. So there were times he enjoyed playing a tough guy, but he knew it was a role. Bush is still the obnoxious teen-ager who is fully insecure because he knows he is a coward. He attempts to hide it with an act, but this act is very different from Reagan's role-playing. Bush assumes because his daddy is rich, that his friends should do his fighting for him. He is the furthest thing from a tough guy, and more, his image of a tough guy is limited to that of an aggressive coward. He hasn't got a clue.

25. I had started counting
the number of times he said "I" in his little talk. I lost count. He lacks the capacity to view this as distinct from himself.
