To use a cancer analogy...terrorists are like tumors, you can destroy parts of them, but they almost always grow back somewhere else. To truly destroy a tumor, you need to cut off its blood supply.
In the case of terrorists its blood supply is the apathy, and in some cases support, of the populations of middle eastern countries towards attacks on the west. It is Bush's ham handed policies, particularly in Iraq that have caused this.
We need to be working with moderate leaders in these countries to aid people in reaching their aspirations, as individuals and as societies, and not try and impose some foreign western notions of how they ought to organize their societies. Once we are able to do this, terrorists will lose their support at home.
How we do this will be very complicated, but for damn sure, killing 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians is not the answer!!!
