Mainline rail is running again, the phone network is returning to normal. Flights are still running. The blanket coverage has given way to usual programming on many TV and radio channels.
There'll be horrible Tube disruption tomorrow, but it seems the Tube will be running.

And please be alert, vigilant and observant in your day to day tasks for the time being. That's your best defense.

4. My thoughts and prayers are with victims and their families |

and with all of those who are now living in fear as a result of the attack.
What do you guess will be the impact of this attack on the British public's opinion of having their troops or having US troops in Iraq?

5. The main sentiment I heard from a couple |
|
of Londoner friends: Their main concern, after finding their loved ones were allright was how effed up the transit system was going to be. I hope they're better at fixing damaged rails over there. Something like that here in NYC would have us riding bikes to work for months.

6. They're bloody awful at fixing the Underground |
|
I know someone who used to work for a company that did repairs, and his tales of chaos were depressing.

Crowded, but running.
The Tube won't be back until tomorrow, if then.

12. Stoic. The first jokes have appeared. |
|
As have the first racist jokes, sadly.
People are really being bold about this - it really seems to be business as usual. The builders next door haven't stopped. Radio is returning to normal.
