1. Hell, some DAYS 40 Iraqis die in attacks.
And it never fails to amaze me how it's hardly a blip on the radar?

Maybe because it happens on a weekly basis?

I was in the airport recently and they have those damn TVs everywhere, tuned to CNN, and they were reporting a short story about some Iraqis killed in a car bomb blast, then some other Iraqis who were policemen killed, etc. and I looked around and saw people yawning, staring off into space, looking out the window.

Eh. Iraqis killed, what else is new? :sarcasm:

It's horrific.

NOW, that's NOT to say the lives lost in London aren't just as precious. They ARE. I just wish people were more alarmed by the daily/weekly Iraqi deaths.

4. But they're the ENEMY!
otherwise, why is your army and ours over there killing them?

I'm waiting for the announcement that Saddam is behind the London attacks, having planned and organised it all from his cell.

3. I was thinking the same thing...
..I guess deaths in Asia are not nearly as newsworthy as deaths in
America or Europe.

7. Collateral damage
The "western world" is the real one. They are just the pawns. That said of course, I'm guilty too because I think of ME more than I do them. I can relate to all these attacks because I've spent time in London, in those tube stations. In Madrid too. I once worked in the WTC. I think about 9/11 every day. I take that personal because if I was there I would be the target.

So I would understand their not liking/fearing me..since it's my country that has them be the collateral damage.

10. I know, I think about that some days
when I hear how many Iraqi civilians or police forces have been killed. It's mentioned in passing on the news that 20-some Iraqis died and then the focus goes to Natalie Halloway or some other tripe. Most people who don't follow the news probably never even hear about it, but if they did, I doubt they would care very much.

13. All I can say is, exactly....
and one of our fellow DUer's got upset when I asked why the Brits never bombed the crap out of Ireland to rid the world of the terrorist IRA! Could it be that some sensible Brits realized that wouldn't be a "proportional" response? Or simply not the right way to fight terrorism? Or is this just another example of countries run by stupid white men needing to bomb the crap out of brown people, with no regard for the innocents among them.

16. Because the attacks on NYC, Bali, the Pentagon, Madrid and London...
were caused by gays, liberals, the ACLU, People for the American Way, the Democratic Party, activist judges and Michael Moore. Ask Jerry Falwell.

Besides, covering Iraqi deaths would make Sean Hannity's American flag lapel pin look a little stupid, wouldn't it?
