Bush's Bike Boo-Boo --PIX-->>>
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 11:37 AM by Stephanie

Do you know any other adult who's incurred this many injuries in the past five years?

GLENEAGLES, Scotland (Reuters) -

President Bush says he has finally reached his limits.

Bush went for a mountain bike ride on Wednesday, his 59th birthday, shortly after arriving at the Gleneagles luxury resort in Scotland for a meeting of world leaders. He promptly crashed at speed into a standing police officer, causing minor injuries to both.

Bush appeared at a news conference on Thursday with bandages on two fingers of his grazed left hand.

"I think I found my limitations," he said.

Bush said he had spoken with the officer on Wednesday evening: "He's doing fine. I'm less worried about myself and more worried about him. It just goes to show that I should act my age."

"We were flying, coming in," Bush said.

"By the way -- when you ride hard on a mountain bike, sometimes you fall, otherwise you're not riding hard."

"And it was at the end of a good hour ride, the pavement was slick, and the bike came out from underneath me just like that person on the Tour de France the other day." <more at link>

I also agree with the post on his manicure.

I would think that whoever his manservant/puppet master is would ensure that his finger nails would look well groomed for his photo-ops and for his greeting of world dignitaries.

20. No that can't be true!
The media whore talking head on CNN said that there were NO VISIBLE SIGNS of Bush's bike accident when he blessed them by showing up to dinner last night.

If the whorish USA mass media doesn't put it on TeeVee, then it ain't true! :sarcasm:

29. So typical of Bush to add the swaggering spin
that he was riding really hard....and it's only when you're riding hard that you might fall. Just like that guy in Tour de France.
Hey, Bush. You weren't a fighter pilot in 'Nam. You weren't a jock. Your ranch doesn't even have horses. Please can the John Wayne impersonation and spend some time finding out what's going on in the world. Attend a few town meetings that haven't been vetted. Read a few newspapers -- even foreign ones.
Just quit spending your time on the embarrassing photo ops. in the hopes of establishing your "manhood". That game was over during "My Pet Goat".
You're wasting our time and money.

32. Pubby Up-Is-Down Logic.
Not only is he a macho man, riding HARD, falling is proof that you're doing it right. Those who manage to stay on the bike would be good riders in my world, but are not riding as hard as Macho Chimp in his.

And he's "just like" a professional cyclist riding in mountains for three weeks. Does he call Karl or Karen every time he fears losing face?

The guy simply cannot admit that he makes mistakes, even simple ones.

The son of a friend of mine who was a, shall we say, ineffectual mother, was always getting hurt because he was pretty much out of control. I would try to talk to her about it, but she refused to see that his behavior wasn’t just a matter of being “all boy.”

Finally, I said to her, “I don’t know any other three-year-old who has been to the emergency room six times because of serious injuries he has suffered from wild, out-of-control--and largely unsupervised—behavior! Ask everyone you know and they will tell you the same thing!”

That’s the thing. This little boy’s behavior produced results that were clearly out of the ordinary. The same is obviously true for GWB. I think it is evident that he is either still drinking and/or drugging, or that he has suffered some sort of brain damage from all those years of heavy drinking and drugging, so that he is less physically capable than other adults.

He and his handlers say it is because he works out so strenuously, but John Kerry also zooms around on a bike and windsurfs and skis and snowboards, etc., but he doesn’t show up every third week with these boo-boos.

Usually an athletic adult is more coordinated and physically competent than most and less likely to get injured while engaging in his sport, but Bush is obviously an accident waiting to happen.

34. Hey c'mon guys. Cut him some slack.
After all, riding a bike is haaarrd work...really really haaarrd work.

"By the way -- when you ride hard on a mountain bike, sometimes you fall, otherwise you're not riding hard."

So, if you don't crash, you're not riding hard? Uh, if you actually know how to ride your bike, you don't crash. Moran. I ride bike a lot but this idiot crashes more than anyone I know. He's an embarrassment to bikers everywhere and he should pick a different sport. And I like how he compares himself to the pros in the TdF. Yeah, right. What an a$$.
