It reminded them of the WTC attacks on 9/11....
I just heard a report from Brian Williams talking about this and he claims someone said it reminded them of the WTC attacks....

1. I just overheard someone
saying that "it isn't so bad - it's not nearly as bad as what we went through on 9-11". Mind you, what "we" went through in the midwest... sheesh.

2. Rant!
I work in Western PA but have frequent contact with many who work within a few blocks of Ground Zero. In the days following 9/11, I heard a coworker say to one of them
"It was really bad here. Probably not as bad as for you, but it was still pretty bad."
What narcissism! We are, to quote one blogger, the navel-gazingest nation on Earth. And it's fractal; take the average person on the street, and that person will be able to tell you how X event was worse for them than for you.

End of rant.

3. Of course
Always play the victim. Never think of anyone else and how it might be for them. Me, me, me.

6. it is a contest, isnt it!
our attack was bigger than their attack....much bigger! how dare they draw a comparison...hmmmmmmmmmmmm! geeeezzzzzzzzzzzz! oh yeah....we win the biggest attack award...but this one works too...especially if we can bring back the that ole rally round the pres for democracy and freedom against whoever is the present "them" that would attack democracy and freedom, etc. i guess it would be convenient if it could be an iranian or syrian terrorist this time though...or whoever we must go after next to keep them over there and not on our cities.
