The PUGS have four possible paths now
1. Destroy Clark somehow. Otherwise, he's the new POTUS.

2. Perform two miracles: economy & Iraq.

3. Dump Bush and run someone else for pres.

4. Start war in N. Korea.

3. With what troops?
Or is Shrubbo going there in his flight suit to scare them? Or they could just send Ann Thrax to call them "liberals."

2. Options 2-4 are non-starters.
- The BFEE has relinquished their ability to control the economy or Iraq.
- They cannot dump Bush and expect to be competitive next year.
- Starting another friggin war will cause him to lose every last indep and many repubs.

Their only option is to destroy their democratic opponent(s). The campaign for POTUS over the next 13 months is going to be the ugliest in our history.

4. I think they are pretty much up the
preverbial creek without a paddle... so to speak.

They will do #1 - but who will listen to them now?? AFter the mess they've made.

They can not do #2 - IMPOSSIBLE.

They can do #3 - but no viable replacement. They haven't been pumping up any other Repubs with patriotic ferver - they's have to get rid of * and go with the sympathy factors (although there wouldn't be a whole lot of that.

They CAN'T do #4 - we don't have the freking troops - but it doesn't mean they won't try out of desperation. If so - there will have to be a draft and the Repubs will throw * out themselves on that one. Certainly, ya think???????

5. i think
1) Clark will destroy himself...I coul dbe wrong but I think Dean is still the man to beat. Clark is getting the new puppy poll numbers but the bottom line is 66% of people polled cannot name 1 of the candidates. Once the newness fades it will be back to Dean

2) Iraq is not in need of a miracle. Setting up a democracy takes time. Look at the United States it was 1776-1789 before the constitution was ratified by all the states and official. If the media flips and starts going positive or if they find any sort of a WMD....BUSH becomes GOD again.
B) The economy is growing, we cannot deny it because the numbers don't lie. We have seen growth of 3-4% each month. Yes jobs are still down but that is a fact of economics. Talk to any economist liberal or conservative and they will agree employment ALWAYS lags behind at least 3-6 months of economic growth.

3) NEVER happen

4) N. Korea is yesterday's news....they have shut up after Iraq. The real concern now seems to be Iran and the UN seems to be jumping on IRAN which could lead to finding WMD's all over the MidEast

my point is don't count this man out until all the votges are counted next November. Do not make the mistake of thinking his turkey is basted. If the economy picks up there is nothing that can be done people will vote their wallets again. If he gets help from the UN for Iraq he look better.

For God's dont start measuring for White House Curtain yet....He's a Bush and he is always dangerous, especially when the underdog

6. I'm guessing they'll go for 1 and 4.
Start a war: N. Korea, Iran, Syria, take your pick. With what troops? "We don't need no steenking troops when we've got NUKES." The Pukes have just been dying to play with the Big Toys, after all, what's the point of having them if you don't get to shoot them?

7. agreed
They don't need ground troops to start a war against a nation with little to nothing in the way of air defenses. The industrial war machine has been busy cranking out more cruise missles and "smart bombs" since we quit dropping them more than five months ago, and they'll have plenty in another six months. They always intended to occupy Iraq, but they could start an air campaign against Syria, skipping the invasion and just pounding it into rubble. Militarily, there isn't one thing Syria could do about it, and I don't put it past the neo-cons.
