Pics of Bush bike injuries.
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/050707/photos_pl/mdf604112

Okay, this is weird. Why wouldn't his hands have turned out to break his fall? Why would have have injuries on the backs of his hands? Shouldn't there be injuries on the palms of the hands? It's like he still had his hands wrapped around the handlebars when he went down - doesn't he have reflexes?

1. Strange.
He usually uses his face to break a fall.

36. Seriously in need of training wheels.
Why is it that this guy is constantly falling off his bike?

Hell, he even fell off a Segway (sp?) scooter, AND THEY'RE SELF BALANCING!

Is the pres a metrosexual? With manicured nails, I would bet he is. I say we spread the word in all the red states.

That is a bit strange. His hands look a little puffy too...which is oftentimes a sign of someone who's recently been on a bender.

Hmmm...

10. "just like that person on the Tour de France"

"We were flying, coming in," Bush said.

"By the way -- when you ride hard on a mountain bike, sometimes you fall, otherwise you're not riding hard."

"And it was at the end of a good hour ride, the pavement was slick, and the bike came out from underneath me just like that person on the Tour de France the other day."

30. didn't he describe himself that way, last year?
I recall that he actually used a technical term (for the person leading a particular group of cyclists), which slips my mind right now ... anyway, he came across like Walter Mitty pretending he's Lance Armstrong.

First of all, it's "in the Tour de France" not "on", and second you would think the President would know the name of the rider who is only the third american in TDF history to wear the Maillot Jaune!

DAVID ZABRISKIE, TEAM CSC.

That would be even weirder and less plausible!

34. not really...
he could've scraped the palm and the bike could've scraped/landed on the back of his hand. He also might have caught himself with his right hand, sustaining the palm injury there. Since that hand isn't in the picture, we just don't know.

Going through the Group of Eight Nations slideshow at Yahoo, this one appears to be the best shot of his right hand.

 who knows?
Think I'll go with the posters who said it comes from knuckle-dragging.

15. You know, you're absolutely right.
Those cuts on the outside of his fingers aren't consistent with a spill to the ground off a bike, unless he has no reflexes at ALL.

The injuries would be to the OTHER side of his fingers, and mostly to his palms. Our palms tend to take the brunt of the injury in situations like that.

I can't think of a single reason why the outside of his fingers would be so cut up.

Weird.

I don't think he actually fell off a bike, anyway. Something is wrong with him, but it's not bike spills. I think it's far more serious.

When Bush talks about 'finding his limits' and 'riding hard'...maybe he was referring to a night of rough sex with Jeff Gannon.

I just want to know why he keeps falling of the damn bikes? Unless you are one of the above -- it just seems unlikely that anyone of normal cognizance could be this unlucky on two wheels.

28. Could have been his fingers slipping between the handlebar and
the brake lever when his bike stopped and he kept moving. Or maybe he tried to get a cheap shot on the cop while he was at it, like he does when he plays Rugby.

33. some pics of the palms of his hands ...
Edited on Thu Jul-07-05 05:42 PM by Lisa
With the bandages going all the way around like that, it's hard to tell whether the undersides of his fingers also have lacerations. But his palms look intact. (And from my own bitter experience, I usually get cuts on the palms, especially the soft part beneath the thumb, if I fall while out jogging -- rather than on my fingers.)

I tried to put in the whole link, but it came back as "illegal" -- to view, open a new window and paste the "news.yahoo and the rest of it" into the URL line.

37. My theory:
I believe that Bush and some of his playmates in the whitehouse are into some kind of macho fraternity-style fight club scenario.

It would seem so like him to do something like that. He wants to be Teddy Roosevelt. He wants to be Napolean. He wants to be Mussolinni. But sadly he's just commander cukoobananas and he's losing his pathetic little war.

And therein lies the rub. He must feel powerless sitting in the world's most powerful seat hooked up to Karl Rove and taking high colonics from Dick Cheney and Bulldog Gannon...

It's the perfect set up for the inception of a fight club in the White House basement!

And THAT is why he's always hurting himself...
