The righties always loudly declare themselves the "true patriots" because of their conspicuous display of flags and symbols, and their blind support of whatever war du jour we're involved in.
But are they really patriots, or are they something else? Let's look at a few definitions:
Patriotism - love for or devotion to one's country
Nationalism - loyalty and devotion to a nation; especially : a sense of national consciousness exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups
Jingoism - extreme chauvinism or nationalism marked especially by a belligerent foreign policy
Now, which of these sound more like the righties and the leaders that they support?
