2. ROVE/DSM/NEW TORTURE PHOTOS
Hopefully ROVE/DSM/NEW TORTURE PHOTOS will be in the news.

Then again some crazy white chick may fake her own kidnapping.

They can always fall back on a missing kid.

4. And why?
Because Brits will go on with their lives. They will not allow this to define them, weaken their society and rights or be demogogued.

In this manner, they are, as a people, much more intelligent than us.

6. not if the Bush junta and the MSM have anything to do with it
the timing is just to coincidental. Bush about to be severely embarrassed at G8 over global warming, Rove about to be outed over Plame, one of the biggest demonstrations ever about to be undertaken at
Gleneagles and the time of the first bomb - 11 mins to 9 - 11/9 of course is Sept 11 in English they just try to be a bit too clever.

They need diversions so we lose our focus on all of the fuckups that should be exposed.

7. I give it three days...
... if there's another shark attack, rumors of small boys cruising on their bicycles in the vicinity of Neverland, or a calculated leak from the White House of no real consequence concerning a Supreme Court justice nomination.

Maybe two days.... :)

8. I actually made a comment similar to this ...
...to my assistant at work today (who's also a big DU fan, I might add). But my reasoning was this:

A good portion of the American population (i.e. - the NASCAR dads and soccer moms), don't give a damn about the rest of the world and what happens in it. Oh, they'll feign shock and sorrow about the bombings for a day or two, but after that it will be old news - replaced by another missing child or bride. In general, a broad population of America is very selfish. If it happened here, it would be the worst thing since 9/11. Since it happened to another country..."oh, that's sad. But I gotta pick up Jimmy from soccer practice."

There are obviously exceptions to this. Please don't think I'm saying this about ALL Americans. There are plenty of us folks, like the people on this board, who obviously pay attention to what's going on in the world and care deeply about it.

But the truth of the matter is, unless the terrorists strike in our backyard, most Americans don't have time for it and pay it only a slight glance. Like someone else posted on DU earlier today, a lot of people see suicide bombings in Iraq everyday on tv and don't give it a second thought.
