Mother of N.C.-based Marine unsure what to tell sister-I HATE this
http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/news/special_packages/iraq/12084900.htm

Have I mentioned how much I HATE this invasion and the current administration?
His 5-year-old sister keeps asking when Marine Cpl. Carlos Pineda will come home. Although more than a 100 people packed into his funeral, she insists the man in the wooden box was a doll, not her brother.

"What do I say to her?" asked Pineda's mother, Silvia Hernandez, on Thursday from her home in Los Angeles. Hernandez buried her oldest son last week after the Camp Lejeune, N.C.-based Marine was killed during combat in Fallujah, Iraq.

"I can tell her that he died doing what he believed in, but the pain is the same," she said.

Pineda, 23, June 24 as a result of wounds from enemy small-arms fire. He was assigned to 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. (more at link)

2. I feel the same way....
I don't like saying I hate anyone, but everytime I hear such a story and that of any person dying in this phoney war that has nothing to do with protecting us, I feel one emotion toward Bush and Co., and it's definitely hate.

:argh:

3. The Mother Gets My Real Concern
How does she deal with her own loss of losing a child (and a first-born to boot) and the torment going on with her other child. Emotional overload. And all the "compassionate conservatives" say is "he died for what he believed in". Some solace when you're seeing visions of a loved one who you know will never return.

Shameless...this ugly war will be one of the darkest moments in this nation's history.

4. Kids that age don't really understand
A friend of mine had a niece who died of leukemia at 17. Her 5-year-old sister kept asking why they had to bury her. Why couldn't they just keep her in her room so they could see her whenever they wanted to? If you don't think that was rough on the parents, trying to explain...
