I just had a little fight with a couple of morans

I commute with the LIRR. I just got off the train at my station and I hear a guy tell his girlfriend that he was interviewed by News 12 about the bombings yesterday. He said that he told them that "maybe now the rest of Europe will support the war and Bush." I being a patriot and DUer had to chime in. I said that maybe this happened because they did support Bush. And then we were off.

The guy says he hopes I'm not a "tree hugging liberal." I never considered myself a tree hugger, but whatever. I said, "you're young and healthy. Why aren't you in Iraq?" They said some shit, I said that I was serious, him and his woman are both young and healthy and they should go. They called me some names and said that I shouldn't talk to them. I said "you can't handle the truth?" They called me some more names and the guy said that he was going to kick my ass. I said that "he should be kicking ass in Iraq." I also said, "wait, we are on the same side. Why would you kick my ass? Go kick ass in Iraq. There is a recruitment center 2 towns over and I would be happy to drive you." They called me some more names. I threw in that they were yellow chickenhawks that wouldn't fight for what they believe.

It's fun to meet real yellow elephants. I enjoyed it.

liberal like Jesus was and I love trees because they make the oxygen we breathe."

It doesn't always bring about an epiphany but it often creates a pregnant pause in the conversation and hopefully sows a seed ;-)
