All his kids have degrees, none can get a job, all unemployed over a year

Was over at a friends house tonight visiting and met this wing-nut blowhard. It wasnt a party, there were only 7-8 people there so tried my hardest not to get into it with him.

Then when he started saying the economy was going great its just the Liberal media that was bad-mouthing it.

That was too much, after biting my tongue and letting someone else reply first..

I told him that I knew someone whom all his children have college degrees and none of them can get a job, they have all been unemployed for over a year now. That doesnt sound like a great economy to me.

And this loudmouth moron pipes off with ... 'Well, I'm not surprised you know someone like that, thats just like some lazy ass Liberal, they are probably on welfare, sit around drinking and eating pizza all day while the rest of us pay for it. And the socialist scumbag parents would still say they are good kids!'

Well my friend, you may have half of it right..

and I think you may know these people too, its ..

President George Bush and Laura Bush!

All their kids graduated college over a year ago and none of them has a job!!

Ha HAHHHHH!!!

Yeah, I baited him, but holy cow he swallowed it hook, line, and sinker... Ate his foot all the way up to the kneecap!!

His girlfriend was even laughing!

That was the most fun all week!

Ohh, and by the way, in case you didnt know.. I'm an 'Asshole'

Heh heh

Kelley

8. I found this:
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 11:18 PM by Bouncy Ball
(Oh and the last blog entries I cand find anywhere about this are all dated mid-December...)

FIRST, Jenna Bush was going to teach poor kids in Harlem.
Then, after Harlem didn't welcome her with open arms, she decided she was going to teach poor kids at a Washington, D.C., charter school.
Then important news broke: Jenna would wear a Badgley Mischka dress at dad's inaugural ball.
But what about that teaching job? How's that going?
The Washington Post's Reliable Source says not so well.
The White House has been mum on Jenna's job search (odd since they're usually so forthcoming), but the Post believes Jenna has started work not as a teacher, but as a teacher's aide because she doesn't have the qualifications necessary to take over a classroom under the stringent requirements of No Child Left Behind.
(Who knew when dad signed it into law in 2002, the child being left behind would be his own daughter?)
The Post reported in December that Jenna was going to teach at Elsie Whitlow Stokes Community Freedom Public Charter School in a `low-income` neighborhood.
But after rumors flew that Jenna had actually started as a teaching assistant, the Post spoke to executive director Linda Moore.
"Jenna Bush is not employed as a teacher at the school," Moore said.
Asked whether Jenna was working as an assistant teacher, Moore said: "I can't confirm that."
That's when Moore mentioned No Child Left Behind.
She told the Post there are "some very strict requirements about who can be hired and what their credentials have to be, and they do apply to charter schools."
All Laura Bush's spokesman would say is "Jenna Bush has started work."
You have to register...but it is free: https://registration.philly.com/reg/login.d...%2F10670518.htm

If it's true she is working as a teacher's aide (something I HIGHLY doubt), then she is UNDERemployed.

The drunk daughter of a drunk sop is still unemployed, maybe she tried for a job once but she doesnt qualify to be a teacher...

Go figure.

25. Not necessarily
Teaching assistants now are expected to have at a minimum an associates degree and will be required to have bachelors degrees within a fairly short period of time. Systems are losing assistants in droves due to the fact that the pay is so low and the requirments are now so high.

University of Texas. Barbara, the dark-headed one, has a degree (in what, I'm not sure) from Yale.

Jenna apparently does not have teaching certification.

61. Neither one of them NEEDS to work, and probably will just "dabble"
until they decide to marry someone and live off the joint trust funds.. That's the way rich folks operate.. They "attend" college, and even "get a degree" , but it's just to occupy their time, and to appear to be"like everyone else".. They are NOT like everyone else.. never were...never will be. Their lives will be a flurry of travel, luncheons, charity events, and who knows? They may actually "serve on the boards" of some companies..but any money they derive from those things is chump change..

Does anyone think for a nano-second, that Barb & Jenna will be circling apartment listings in the paper, and calling for job interviews?

People like them, have "positions" offered to them because of their name recognition and their socio-political standing.

No doubt, their "address" is someplace pretty spiffy that a "friend" of the family is letting them "stay at".. There are no rent checks, utility bills, phone deposits being ade by them.. They are living like they always have... through the generosity of well-heeled compadres of Daddy & Poppy...

We need to quit worrying about what jobs they have or will have,.. They won;t be needing jobs, and they were not elected to anything anyway.. They just benefitted from a genetic accident, and ended up in the Bush family..

11. There's this:
Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 11:23 PM by Bouncy Ball
"She is on vacation from her job as a teaching assistant at a D.C. public school."

A teaching assistant, in other words, a teacher's aide.

Something you don't need a college degree for, and a notoriously low-paying job (not that she needs the money).

Which means she's underemployed. Doesn't qualify under No Child Left Behind measures for teacher employment.

Highly ironic.

38. "someone makes an ignorant statement about them."

Ok, here is your full sentence since it would fit in the subj line ...

"I will speak up when someone makes an ignorant statement about them."

Hmmmmmmm.

We finally agree on something.

You made the statement that one has a job and the other is doing charity work.

(you added an extra jab by adding 'still funny')

But on your statement about the Bush unemployed daughters having a job ...

The White House will not confirm it.

The DC school will not confirm it.

The SA hospital will not confirm it.

If I'm not mistaken, some people could say that was an ignorant statement.

then you said-

"I have no evidence they are horrible people. Actually there is evidence to the contrary. "

Funny you say evidence.

The evidence I've seen was presented against Bush's daughter in a criminal court. At least one of his daughters has been in jail and faced criminal charges multiple times.

What 'evidence' do you have about the Bush daughters. Did it come from a Texas state criminal court, or the Feds?

Odd they did not deny they work there isn't it? Numerous reasons not to confirm.

Hmm, You saw the evidence presented against the daughters in criminal court? How did you do that?

44. Oh please.
In the absence of ANY confirmation of jobs, you cannot categorically state that either of them are employed, period.

And there is NO confirmation, none at all.

All you can say is "people SAY one of them might be a teaching assistant."

Not a very steady proclamation, is it?

And again, you might want to re-read the OP and enjoy it in the spirit that it was given: as a joke. Or did it anger you to read of a reich-winger who was wedgied so hard by a liberal?

How many times have you been locked up in jail for an alcohol related crime?

You said you shared their experiences.

You havent gone to jail multiple times.

You havent gotten drunk and gone to jail, you havent been arrested for anything, you've never been to a lawyers office for defense advice, you have never been to a criminal preliminary hearing for your case.

You've never been to court with a lawyer to face your criminal charges. You have not testified under oath in a court case against you..

You have never had to make a formal statement to a judge about criminal charges against you.

Heck, I dont think you have much at all in common with the Bush daughters.

That probably wasnt a good point to make on your part.

58. There's a bit of a difference. Unless...
Was your father the ex-governor of the state at the time? Were you buying drinks at a restaurant in that state's capital city where everyone knew your face and age? Were you surrounded by Secret Service in a fairly small restaurant? Did you STILL insist you were someone else and the appropriate age? Did you sit at the table with your equally-well-known twin who ALSO insisted she was someone else and of-age? Did both of you order drinks?

Because, if so, that's either incredibly stupid or amazingly arrogant. Either way, the law was broken, so... Buh-bye! Family values and all that.

93. Did you see their speech at the RNC convention?

It was so bad it was beyond pathetic.

They were like Beevis and Butthead.. laughing through the whole thing .. 'heh, heh... heh heh'.

One of them kept turning around to look up and see herself on the jumbo screen... DURING the 'speech'!

I wish someone would have tivo'd that, its beyond exaggeration.

She's not qualified, apparently. She may have graduated, but she wasn't exactly an honor student. So, a private school got paid to take her on.

And, yeah, it's funny. For many reasons.

Also, I have no problem being asked about my post but see no point in continuing to reply to a poster that says I said things which I clearly did not. Its not like its hard to scroll up and check and see when someone is making false statements. I mean, its understandable that people make mistakes but those people usually admit it. The people that fail to admit it did not make a mistake, they intentionally posted a false statement. Clearly you stated I stated something I clearly did not. Which person are you???

71. Furthermore, from your own article:
Hospital spokeswoman Diana R.B. Ross said she had heard nothing about Barbara Bush working as a volunteer. ''That's news to me," she said yesterday, standing outside the hospital as children streamed in and out of the building.

Nasrina Teladia, director of the Friends of the Children's Hospital, which runs a volunteer program for the hospital, said Barbara Bush did not sign up through her organization. ''I wasn't aware she was with us," Teladia said. ''Of course, she could have come through special channels.

(snip)

More than 20 hospital employees, asked if they had firsthand knowledge of Barbara Bush's work, said they had not worked with her.

Yeah, it's all so hush hush, even the hospital spokeswoman, a director of volunteers, and many members of the staff don't even know about it.

I'm in major red area, most Repubs are pretty mild, but at any gathering or party its not uncommon to have a loudmouth like this guy around.

Actually I clocked a sec there, that he chose to say Socialist instead of 'Commie'.. I love it when they do that, its so out-dated it reveals what a fool they are, all you have to do is ask .. "Who are these Commies you speak of? .. Do they have a country? Where is it?"

Been fighting with these types for 20 years, but the last few years its not really a fight, its almost like entertainment.
Maybe I'm getting older and better at it, and they are certainly getting more full of BS .. its probably a lot of both.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun tonight, pumped and cant go to sleep!

It's my son's name, and I raised a good liberal man. Although I'm divorced from his father and took back my maiden name, both his father, Mike Moran, and I are raging liberals. It's not the Moran Clan's fault that some idiot couldn't spell "moron" on a sign a year ago.

BTW, I might just as easily call Freepers "KelleyKramer" since my the only two repukes I ever dated were Jim Kelley and Bob Kramer (scout's honor). Nothing personal to you, dear KK. I'm just sayin'.

Oh, and thats a quote from an old Bill Murray movie, so if you have any kids named Frances take it up with Bill, the writer and movie producer.

The reference in my other post came from an idiot freeper who cant spell. IMHO it doesnt reflect badly on a person who correctly spells their name that way, it reflects badly on an idiot warmonger who cant even spell on a painted sign condemning his opponents of ignorance.

Big difference.

And a lot of poetic irony there.

Edited on Sat Jul-09-05 12:56 PM by neebob
I saw something about this on the Yahoo! news a couple weeks ago, about how the current crop of twentysomethings entering the work force have ridiculously high expectations because they've had a great deal of success early in life.

I don't know how that happened on a large scale, but there's a 23-year-old at my office who could be the poster boy for it. He's upset because he's only making $25K a year. "I made more money selling my house," he says, and he's always disgruntled because his boss doesn't go for his ideas and wants him to do the job for which he was hired. He has all kinds of little entrepreneurial ventures going on the side and is also still going to school.

Oh, and did I mention he's a Republican?

I'm like, "Dude, I thought I was kicking ass making $900 a month at 19, and felt pretty good about $30K at age 30."

Anyway, on edit, I see I didn't read enough to know that it wasn't the right-wing blowhard's kids who have degrees and can't get jobs. So make my point that I don't know how this happened on a large scale, because I don't think the economy's all that great, either. The kid at my office should feel lucky to have a job with so much opportunity. :)
