A friend wondered whether the freepers and other Andy-haters
have, since his death, apologized for their loathsome posts.

Not as far as I know, I replied. And, frankly, one visit today at both the freepers site and that scamdy-or something, is all that I can tolerate.

But if someone here has a stronger stomach and wishes to visit these sites, and if there is a hint of apology, please let us know.

Thanks

1. Do pigs and reptiles have a conscience?
Don't look for any apologies from those child molester types.

3. Indeed, as Commie Girl wrote
Did Cornyn apologize for stating during the Schiavo feeding frenzy (get it?) that violence against judges was understandable? Not so much, to my knowledge. Did Karl Rove apologize for just last week accusing Democrats of committing treason? No, and he never the fuck will—and for all the people demanding that he apologize? Stop it! Your oversensitive pussy is showing!

Hey, did y’all hear this week when Republican Senator Rick “Man on Dog” Santorum said the Catholic Church molestation scandal epicentered in Boston because Boston was a center of liberalism? Dude, liberals are totally child molesters—just ask Scott Ritter, the UN weapons inspector whose report that said Iraq had no WMD was derided by folks in the administration who smeared him as—you guessed it!—a child molester.

6. I wouldn't waste my piss on any of those worthless bastards.
I consider the whole lot of freeper idiots lower than insect pests.

I could't believe the doubt these evil creeps spread against a man who was fighting death. They are depraved!

5. I went to FR earlier today
I won't post a link. But there were a couple of threads. The general consensus was who cares. They didn't donate money. So who cares. There were also several who claimed that Andy wasn't dead. In fairness, there was at least one poster who said going after Andy was a mistake.

7. OK, this is more imoprtant than my silly little troll account.
I am a FReeper troll and please accept my apologies for the handling of the Andy situation. I'll make no excuses, what happened was wrong.

8. Thank you, Mark.
Andy was a good guy. Human, yes. But a good guy.

The intensity of the attack on Andy leads me to believe it didn't just bubble up out of nowhere -- somebody really had it in for him and his supporters.

Maybe he got a little too close, fought a little too hard, and made them just a little uncomfortable.

16. Most certainly didn't bubble out of nowhere.
Andy was a proud, liberal, gay Democrat who was fighting the Republican controlled voting systems. He was a threat on lots of levels to these people. Actually, I was surprised how few people there are on Scamdy...I'm glad to see there are only a few people who would affilitae themselves with this kind of hatred.

They are sooo concerned about whether fundraising laws were broken....right. They really ought to be ashamed of themselves.

13. Thank you Mark H.
Most of us realize that it was just a hand full of folks responsible for most of that hate. I do appreciate your post and thank you for your apology. You are a man of honor.

17. Indeed, there are a few - now and then
I remember one freeper actually donated to Andy during the first round and posted a decent comment

The sad thing is that it was not only the hateful comments but actual actions to delay the transfer of funds by paypal and consequently the surgery on schedule, delaying it by a week, when every day counted.

14. You are an honorable soul...
We may disagree, but I would never wish that any physical harm would come to anyone, anywhere... I have family that I love that are Republicans and even though I believe they might be a few bricks shy of a load, I would stand by their side and defend them. :) (Ok, my one brother-in-law, maybe not so much...;))

Right now, there are Democrats and Republicans standing side by side in Iraq, dying in each others arms, for a war that this President wanted to wage even before he became President.

If we aren't lucky, this President may make it possible for all of us to meet someday in person... we'll all end up as grunts in the Army fighting in Iran! :)

9. Took a look earlier today...
Found one thread on FR that concerned Andy... I went to Scamdy but I got a headache after trying to read a few posts there, so I left. (That's a really bizarre site...)

Anyway, at FR there was a post that Andy had died. Several people posted asking who Andy was, if he really was dead(!?), and then at the end, it seemed that as they began to believe he had passed on, a few 'sorry to hear he passed' messages were posted.

I did not know Andy, I've only been posting here at DU for a few months, but I was so sadden to learn of his death. I read his posts, and cheered his efforts. What I saw at FR seemed respectful, and yeah, there were some posts from real jerks, but I accept that as the price of free speech in our country.

I have a few Republican inlaws... I don't believe that they're all evil... I think many of the Republicans are just starting to wake up and see the sham that this administration always was.

10. Yes, there is a difference
There are old fashioned Reagan conservatives who I have no problem with and then there are those who put their party ahead of their country. You'll find them at FR, CU and Fox News.

15. Ignore those loathsome insects.
Even if they apologise they're not worth spit. They're certainly not worth wasting your time.
