CIA Leak Isn't A Test Case For Journalistic Ethics - It's A Test Case...
For Justice - Citizen Times, Asheville, NC

<snip>

First, a very serious crime was apparently committed. Because of the shadowy nature of spying, we may never fully know the ramifications that occur when the identity of an undercover CIA operative is revealed, but it is safe to assume the operative - and the operative's network - is placed in danger. That Plame, involved with helping to keep weapons of mass destruction out of the hands of terrorists, may have been outed for political revenge is outrageous, in addition to possibly treasonous.

And...

Certainly, this affair should spark renewed calls for responsible shield laws for reporters trying to serve the public. An anonymous source trying to serve the public good, say, by reporting a crime, should be shielded.

That said, by all indications the person being shielded now committed a crime as an act of petty political revenge.

This isn't a test case for journalistic ethics.

It's a case for justice, pure and simple.

Right On! This is absolutely about justice, in so many ways!

3. The Asheville Citizen-Times is a Gannett newspaper along with USA Today.
Interesting.

I agree with the editorial, even though it doesn't go far enough in exposing this monstrous hypocrisy.

4. I must say, the capacity of discernment never ceases to amaze me.
I relish the poignancy: "This isn't a test case for journalistic ethics. It's a case for justice, pure and simple."

IN SPITE of the chaotic linguistic torture imposed daily upon our people, I witness the persistent anchored expression of and advocacy for the rule of law,...which demands justice.

5. Justice for the rest of us.
I wish everybody would stop trying to make a heroic martyr out of propaganda prostitute Judith Miller. The victim here is America.

7. Justice which should serve the American people ...
from being taken advantage of by a corrupt administration. This case may forever stick in my craw if they are allowed to get away with this. Miller aside, very sad time for our democracy.
