I was thinking about something earlier |

Earlier I was watching the documentary "Spin" someone made. It was where they recorded HOURS of satellite video feed. They kept the cameras rolling during commercial breaks and things like that and you could really get to know people. Like they told how Al Gore when he was a Senator voted against government funding for abortions and they tried to pin him on it and they showed someone telling him how he could get away from those question's (he looked really uncomfortable during them). If I was him I would've just said my opinion has changed since then. Of course I don't know if it has or not but people do change. The doc also told how during Clinton's years they made it to where the satellite feed's were just like what you see on regular cable. Do they still have that law or does satellite still have that? I was wondering about that cause I think it'd be interesting to have another documentary like that with everything going on. Of course I couldn't make it since I only have cable and dunno how. Heh. Thanks in advanced.

Direct TV, Echostar et al are satellite services that use the mini dishes, they are just like cable - you recieve the feed off of their satellite..
However you can buy your own satellite dish and get a direct feed from regular communication satellites with the right equiptment...this is now referred to sometimes as hobbyist satellite - kinda akin to the Ham radio enthusiasts. They are the really large ones that you used to see everywhere.
