JUST IN FROM FRENCH TV2 : LONDON EXPLOSIVES MIGHT COME FROM IRAQ
the four bombs weighed about 10lbs (4.5 kilos) each and were small enough to be carried in backpacks.

it indicates that the explosives were high-tech and probably of military nature.

This kind of explosives were stolen from the unguarded Al Quaqqa facility, because of major SNAFU during the fall of Bagdhad...

put George's war in perspective doesn't it ?

4. Not surprising those ammo depots were a terrorists goldmine.
And further proof if any more were needed, by any sane individual, that the Bush administration is a bunch of incompetent fools.

7. Oh wait a minute... it's the French again... well now you just know it's
made up.... just like the pre 911 warnings. Afraid the truth might come out? Start a war.

To obtain a warrant under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, the FBI must show, according to former Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder, that a suspect is “a member of or connected to a terrorist organization, that there was reason to believe that he was actively engaged in the aims of that terrorist organization.” In off-the-record interviews with reporters, FBI officials in Washington denied that the information from France linked Moussaoui to bin Laden. They claim the data connected Moussaoui only with Islamic rebels in Chechnya, who don’t figure on the official U.S. list of “terrorist” groups.

Talk about literal blowback.

Terrorists weren't going to use vases from looted museums . . .

tocqueville I wonder if we will ever hear this here.

Welcome to DU!

This was talked about before the election and people still thought that the little dictator would be the one to 'keep them safe'.

Edited on Sun Jul-10-05 07:56 AM by Garbo 2004
available. The missing Iraq munitions most likely are what are killing our troops and Iraqis. This story likely will play into the Bush terraists in Iraq threatening us meme rather than reflect badly on the fuckup of leaving all those munitions unguarded and subject to looting.

14. Surprises me the information being "Leaked" isn't being "fixed" ..
to say that the bad guys came from Iran or North Korea!

Dumbya's gang has tons of heavy blaming to do, before they can talk Prime Minister poodle into that next middle eastern caper! Clown Prince Dumbya always gets what he wants, or he has another nukkklar tantrum in congress. The truth is, that the cold blooded murderers in the UK, could have come from anywhere. Let us see now, has the "War pResident", or the Queen, ever done anything to upset anyone anywhere around the globe lately?

MEANWHILE BACK AT THE RANCH...KKKarl looks foreword to his first good solid night's sleep in a while. He's been up nights sweating and fretting over Wilsongate. Now it's as if KKKarl has hit the "trifecta", one more time! His luck has completely changed as a result of the HUGE news story out of London. KKKid Numbnuts, the War pResident KKKid, is back a day early from his trip to "yuurpe", so KKKarl is getting rested up for another tough day of babysitting Poppy Bush's Numb-er one son. KKKarl was afraid the gang would have to dump his slimy old hide, to save BlackDick Cheney from getting hog tied into the Plame case too.

"Yes Sir-ree Bob, bad news is always good news around these here parts," muses KKKarl, as he slithers, slathers and spins off, like a chubby cheeked pink Texas Tornado, into the flaming red sun suit.(no typo intended)

All we can do, is to survive from one major calamity to the next and to hope for far better days to come.

15. Fear Fear Fear Fear Fear Fear Fear
I'll ask again...haven't seen an answer. How many people died in bombings in Iraq on Friday? How many in the past week, past month? Did our corporate media run 24/7 about the "Tragedy At The Baghdad Bus Station"? Hell no. We're lucky to get a 10 second blurb behind Tom Cruises' latest outrage or Runaway Brides.

I still haven't heard any definitive proof of any "Al Queda" connection about these bombing...and that has my red flags still up. I mean these weren't very good bombers. Blowing up trains 120 feet underground where you can't get pictures of flames and smoke and panic-striken victims. All we get is picture of the same old blown-up double-decker bus.

I'm actually glad Dennis has taken over the front pages from the piling on. The corporate media is trying to make these bombing into another 9/11...when they're obviously not. Not just in the number of casualties, but in how it was carried out.

Generally I'm not into tin foil hats, but this one really smells funny.

17. Of course London papers say the exact opposite.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,1280,-5127995,00.html

London Bombs Likely Simple and Homemade

snip ...

The bombs were probably made from simple, relatively easy-to-obtain plastic explosives, not the higher-grade military plastics like Semtex that would have killed far more people, said Andy Oppenheimer, a weapons expert who consults for Jane's Information Group.

``Any crook with ready cash could obtain this stuff if they knew where to look for it,'' said Alex Standish, the editor of Jane's Intelligence Digest.

Plastic explosives are readily available on the black market in the Czech Republic and other central and eastern European countries or through the Russian mafia, Standish said. Large amounts of plastic explosives untagged by the chemical markers that enable dogs to detect it are missing from Czech stocks, he added.

... snip

23. Bush opened Pandora's arms depot.
The Iraq war is the biggest, stupidest mistake ever made by a world leader. He didn't double-check his reasons for going. He didn't triple-check his plans for success. He just jumped in there like the ignorant, impulsive, reckless daddy's boy brat he was reared to be.

Terrorism is coming from Iraq. Of course, it's only happened since we invaded, but that's a tiny detail that can easily be overlooked.
