Not just the Rove leak: Is Fitzgerald preparing Espionage Act indictments?
A long read with this tantalizing opening:
Fitzgerald preparing indictments under the Espionage Act?
by kant
Sun Jul 10th, 2005 at 01:22:58 PDT

I wonder if anyone in the White House Press Corps reads Kos? If so, could someone ask Scotty, if he thinks the Espionage Act applies to the Plame leak?

It seems clear from the eight pages blacked out from Judge Tatel's concurrence, that Patrick Fizgerald is working closely with the CIA to understand the true ramifications of the crime committed in the Plame case.

Beyond the IIPA and perjury and obstruction of justice, wouldn't you think that if ever a case existed to use the Espionage Act... this is it.

From Lawrence O'Donnell to John Dean, to two of the Circuit Judges, it seems that those with experience in these matters believe we have something much more serious than "he said/he said."
Kos kontributor kant lays out a summary of the facts and then elaborates.

2. important question: did Iran get our secrets through Chalabi?
And how involved was Judith "Stovepipe" Miller?

Maybe her silence has NOTHING to do with the Plame leak. Maybe it's about the betrayal of secrets in time of war. Maybe SHE is culpable. Maybe Miller's one of a tight, executive-branch-based cabal worthy of execution for treason.

10. More on Miller: how she ratfucked Fitzgerald a few years back
Edited on Sun Jul-10-05 11:52 AM by johnfunk
Lest we forget,
Fitzgerald
had been investigating three Islamic charities accused of supporting
terrorism -- the Holy Land Foundation, the Global Relief Foundation,
and the Benevolence International Foundation. But just before his
investigators could swoop in with warrants, two of the charities in
question got wind of what was coming and, apparently, were able to
destroy a good deal of evidence.

What tipped them off were calls
from two reporters at the New York Times who'd been leaked information
about the investigation by folks at the White House.

One of those two reporters was Judy Miller.
Ruh-roh!
Can
you
say
TREASON?

5. What's a little espionage among republicans?
Edited on Sun Jul-10-05 10:45 AM by tabasco
I mean, who cares if there are traitors and spies in the White House? If they're republican, they must be doing it for patriotic reasons, right? The republicans have restored honor and integrity to the White House after Clinton with all that messy sex. So this is obviously just more lie-beral smears

Condi Rice was sooooooo worried about mushroom clouds during the lead-up to the Iraq war. :nuke: Now we have persons in the administration who have compromised a deeply-embedded agent working against the spread of nuclear materials. Will Rice be condemning those found guilty of this compromise? ???

Of course not, DUmmies! IOKIYAAR - It's OK if you are a republican! Even espionage and treason can be overlooked by the faithful. After all, it's party before Nation, right? :freak:

Peace.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - How ever long it takes, the day must come when tens of millions of caring individuals peacefully but persistently defy the dictator, deny the corporatists their cash flow, and halt the evil being done in Iraq and in all the other places the Bu$h neoconster regime is destroying civilization and the environment in the name of "America."

9. That Kos Piece Is Brilliant!
If Fitzgerald is focusing on that Espionage Act then it looks like he has SEVERAL folks in the administration that are clearly guilty.

And this is the law that we should be front and center. It should be illegal for a government official to spread classified information, period! Especially during WAR!
