NPR spinning Clark right now:
Edited on Thu Sep-25-03 06:19 PM by AP
part-time Fox-employee Mara Liasson says:

(1) Clark was vague on SS question (implying he's not up to speed on the issues);

(2) When forced, Clark "hewed" close to Clinton line (people should invest in equity markets, but not through SS) -- Liasson's tone of voice seemed to be implying that this is some crazy, stale, failed idea;

(3) Clark is being advised by Clinton people (clearly meant as a slur, and a gross exaggeration since most of the campaigns have a former Clinton administration employee working for them); and

(4) some think all Clark needs is an appearance of authority (clearly implying he might be a stuffed shirt, but that's all the Democrats are looking for).

Then she acknowledged that Clark and Dean are fighting for the same voters, and one's success is the other's failure.

So there's the spin from NPR.

3. Well, if you say she's a w----e, then I'm probably going to like her.
Could we maybe refrain from using terms like whore and bitch to refer to women? Might you be able to give us a coherant reason for why you dislike this woman so much? On second thought, don't bother. Just try to resist the sexist labels, would you please? :-)

6. I totally use it with reference to web site MediaWhoresOnline
which everyone should read. And I've always been a critic of people who try to sexualize their contempt for conservative women. I've always been disgusted by criticisms of Condi Rice which include the comment, she must be having sex with W. I think that's sexist and racist. So, believe, me, I mean Whore in the gender-neutral sense which MWO.com has popularized.
