anytime a bush asks for prayers my soul refuses to do so.
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/southflorida/sfl-eoc10,0,9485.story?coll=sfla-home-headlines

the prayer request the bushes issue sounds so false ... so much like a mandatory evacuation zone ... so through the teeth and out of their lips but not from their hearts ... and while i wish no harm to anyone in Dennis' path (we went through the gale storm winds yesterday) my soul simply refuses to pray because jeb bush has put out the request for a prayer. i visualize his request as a cup for alms for the poor that he is holding so he can then rob the cup of its alms or turn it in to the poor boasting that HE and his compassion are taking care of them. i refuse to fee jeb's cup of hypocritical alms for the poor

"Gov. Jeb Bush asked Floridians to pray Sunday for those in the path of dangerous Hurricane Dennis, barrelling toward a late-afternoon landfall in the Pensacola area packing 140 mph winds.

"It's important for us to pray for the safety of residents in harm's way," Bush said. "I assure you that thousands and thousands of people will back that up with a lot of hard work in the weeks ahead."

sorry jeb. YOU get on your knees and pray and may God know that in my heart i wish no harm to anyone.

2. Strike that last question
I must have been prying. Anyway I lived in Ft. Lauderdale during Andrew. Talk about terrified! I really feel for the people there today and hope they are all safe. As you recall, the eye of the storm passed over Homestead and Florida City. The colors in the night sky were like an acid trip of long ago. I will remember it always.

At the time I was 36 years old and that night I felt about 4 or 5.

3. i do live in south florida and have driven by Kennedy's church on Federal
Hwy.

Dennis did hit the panhandle this afternoon, but as a category II is what i've heard, and while still strong, not as strong as the category IV or V they were expecting it to be. thank God for that.

the problem is some of the buildings which had not yet been rebuilt as a result of Ivan last year were battered even further by Dennis. there seems to be a question about how FEMA and/or insurance companies are going to handle that.

The night ANDREW hit my husband slept through the entire storm while I sat on the edge of the bed with a rosary in my hand praying that the storm wouldn't harm us--and watching Bryan Norcross, Kelly Craig and Tony Segretto tell us point by point how close the storm was getting to the area.

We were lucky..only the neighbor's shed suffered some damage. We didn't even lose power during that storm. Last year we did with the storms as they came by.

4. With me
I don't pray because they ask. I pray anyways because it's dangerous and people should be remembered in hard times like this. I don't care what they say personally.

5. yes... and when i say that my soul refuses to pray when the bushes ask.
Edited on Sun Jul-10-05 06:49 PM by flordehinojos
it does. i can't. i doesn't mean that i haven't already prayed BECAUSE OF MY OWN SENSE OF A NEED FOR PRAYER which most people have.

They (the bushes) are swift with asking for prayers but hard as nails for doing what they need to do, which is to take care of the country, and in jeb's case the state.

they want to have the powers of government and act like false prophets all the time.
