Rove is going down, here's why I believe this to be true...
Everyone's favorite NewsMax has reported on the Newsweek Plame/Rove article. Here's the weird part, that have added no spin? Maybe NewsMax believes there is no spinning out of this one?

Newsweek: Email Links Rove

In the latest issue, Newsweek reveals some emerging details of White House advisor Karl Rove's communications with Time magazine correspondent Matt Cooper - in the critical time period just before the unlawful disclosure of the identity of a CIA operative.

Cooper's e-mail to his bureau chief, Michael Duffy:

"Subject: Rove/P&C," , Cooper wrote in the 2003 electronic mail. "Spoke to Rove on double super secret background for about two mins before he went on vacation ..."

According to the Newsweek report, Cooper then proceeded to spell out some guidance - "Please don't source this to Rove or even WH ."

....

Newsweek noted that it is significant that Rove was speaking to Cooper before Novak's column appeared - before Plame's identity had been published - and added that the email provided a glimpse of what was unfolding at the highest levels as the administration defended a part of its case for going to war in Iraq.

4. I find it really odd, here's why.......
Not even a week ago didn't they release a story about this and claimed there was NO crime in what was done? I'll go and try to look up the article, but I know it was not over a week ago. I read it on this board.(GD)If someone else knows of the article I'm speaking of please post it. This is like an about face for them.

Lawrence O'Donnell: No Crime in Plame Case

MSNBC commentator Lawrence O'Donnell, who broke the news Friday that notes taken by Time magazine's Matthew Cooper indictate that top Bush adviser Karl Rove leaked the name of CIA employee Valerie Plame to columnist Robert Novak, said Sunday it's likely that Rove broke no laws.

Rove's lawyer, Robert Luskin, acknowledged on Saturday that his client had indeed spoken to Cooper before the Novak column hit in July 2003. But Luskin insisted that Rove never revealed Plame's identity.

Speaking to WABC Radio host and Internet guru Matt Drudge late Sunday, O'Donnell noted: "What has said is very careful lawyer language. ... We live in a world where we have to discover, in the '90s, that there are people who aren't sure what the meaning of 'is' is."
The MSNBC talker posited:

"That could simply mean he did not use the words 'Valerie Plame.' He may have said ' Wilson's wife,' for example. He may have said all sorts of things that still fit what we're talking about."

13. Can we check to see if O'Donnell's fingernails are intact?
Don't want them to have been twisted or red from someone burning them now...

3. meaning, the report alone is a sufficient indication that Rove
is going to come out of this, with no problems?

16. I guess that's what I was thinking.
Reading the e-mail quotes, I couldn't help but think that it didn't rise anywhere near the level that the law usually cited requires to nail Rove. I could easily be wrong.

I read the e-mails out loud, and can't read them in such a way as to make it sound as horrible as they need to sound, and make them sound like a connected text. There had better be more going on than those, IMHO. He may have blown her cover, but the way the e-mails read run counter to a lot of the spin and interpretations I've heard. It may have more to do with Cooper's diction than with Rovian intent; but that's all I have to go on.

6. "Theater of the Absurd"
"Theater of the Absurd"

Karl Rove is a one-trick pony
The little man he protects: a phony
Deceive and distract,
is this show's only act
He'll look good in prison orange, won't he?

19. Naw. Rove is the smoke-screen to hide the other sources.
Rove just said that Wilson's wife approved his trip on the taxpayers dime.

They want Rove's name out there BIG, often, and EXCLUSIVELY. So, when Rove is not indictable, the story gets OLD, FAST.

Forgetting the OTHER person who did out her sa in Novack's article.

Also hidden is the DSM connection to this story.

The left is biting. Rove Rove Rove Is it Rove Treasonous Rove... Nothing else.

Newsmax is just laughing.
