Repost: Different Yahoo Stories in US and Canada
With properly working links this time

I posted this to LBN and it was labeleled a dupe, it did have some of the same info but some of the information was very different. The US version leaves out the Iraqi Prime Minister's critisizm of US troops.

4. Actually, the wording is slightly different...
In the U.S. version, the prime minister "complains."

In the Canadian version, he "criticizes."

5. I read here this week that the AP...
has a new policy of writing two different stories on one event and it was up to each newspaper to decide which one to pick up.

6. American News has always been a little special. Now it is even
more so. They have to report to the USA by reinforcing American Myths. Nobody else can swallow it.

8. "reinforcing American myths"
spot on.

We live in a reality created by our government and media. It's not the "real world." And they can't let too much of the "real world" seep into a report (press release) because it damages belief in their consructed reality.
