Did any of you listen to Woodward on cspan Q&A tonight?
I must admit, I was very surprised, when at the last 5 minutes or so of the program, Woodward said we are in a similar setting now. When all power is concentrated in one party, there can be corruption. What we need is another Felt to lead reporters to find out what's really going on.

Cspan usually puts these interviews up on their web site but probably not until tomorrow or Tuesday.

I couldn't believe my ears!!!!

1. Reporters to find out what's going on! Everyone knows what's going
on. The problem is no ones cares enough to make it a big deal. They are too afraid of getting fired or shot or something. We have Greg Palast and Michael Moore. We have web sites and blogs. We need a opposition party with a back-bone and a population with some brains.

2. Reporters should get off their butts and report what's going on!
You don't need a Deep Throat to figure it out. Reporters need to be more like I. F. Stone and piece the facts togethers. They're all lamers wanting it handed to them on a platter. Most wouldn't know a story if it hit them in their pretty-boy and pretty-girl faces.

5. I think what he meant was that to prove anything you really need
someone inside to turn! I happen to think he's right. If I thin k about all the big cases I've ever heard about, the case was finally proven because some insider finnally talked.

I'm sure lots of reporters think similarly to us, but you really can't make accusations without proof of some kind.

Rather thought he had it, and look what happened!

6. I should have said "would they be allowed to go".
What we really need is a Bradley.

8. Woodward and being bringing up deep throat for the last two years.
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 02:06 AM by applegrove
(Not including the last two months since the Felt story broke). He would not comment when anyone asked him who Deep Throat was - if say some WH operative from the Nixon era passed away - but he would get on T.V. and talk about Deep Throat himself.

I think he has been saying: "Call Me!" for two or three years.

9. Yeah, I heard it
Thought I was hearing things. I actually found this thread by searching Woodward's name to see if anyone else had posted on this.

Applegrove has given me food for thought. Every time I'd see Woodward on MSM for the last few years, it seemed he was shrilling for the Bushies. But after watching C-span today and applegrove's comments, maybe he has indeed been saying "call me" in the only way he could in today's environment.

I brought his book "Secret Man" today and had to think hard if I wanted to give my money to a Corporate Yes man. After seeing the C-span interview, I think it was money well-spent.
