Rove has many counts, his own admission, and I think lying about Novak
Suddenly it hit me.. something had been bugging me as I researched Rove's role in the Plame outing (I'm working on a short version of the Downing Street Minutes hearing, etc for House Parties Conyers is holding all over the US on July 23rd) and how it ties in with the DSM/Treason by this White House, Bush & Crew..

Something doesn't add up here:

*************

President Bush's chief political adviser, Karl Rove,

--->told the FBI<---

in an interview last October that he circulated and discussed damaging information regarding CIA operative Valerie Plame with others in the White House, outside political consultants, and journalists, according to a government official and an attorney familiar with the ongoing special counsel's investigation of the matter.

But Rove also adamantly insisted to the FBI that he was not the administration official who leaked the information that Plame was a covert CIA operative to conservative columnist Robert Novak last July. Rather, Rove insisted,

----------> he had only circulated information about Plame after it had appeared in Novak's column.<-----------------

He also told the FBI, the same sources said, that circulating the information was a legitimate means to counter what he claimed was politically motivated criticism of the Bush administration by Plame's husband, former Ambassador Joseph Wilson.

**************

And NOW here's Newsweek:

"But according to Luskin, Rove's lawyer, Rove spoke to Cooper
--->three or four days before Novak's column appeared."<---

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8445696/site/newsweek/

*****

So WHO told Novak? Cheney? Condi? BUSH?

Also, it appears that Karl is lying here in some fashion, but even if he isn't one thing he HAS ADMITTED to is telling MANY people about PLAME --

That sure sounds like MULTIPLE COUNTS of committing a crime, a pattern which shows INTENT as well..

I think this is going to be one big stinky mess before it's through, and I'm loving it :)

Thoughts?

2. He is a snake...
and it appears that his coils are knotting him up.

However; never underestimate the ability of this thug. Especially in this current media climate which is one of appeasement and fear rather than investigation.

3. Who told Rove?
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 07:08 AM by Ikonoklast
Why does a political hack appointment like KKKarl Rove have information about National Security assets? Isn't information like that tightly controlled in this administration? Isn't telling another person without security clearance or need-to-know a crime also? If Rove needed this information about CIA operatives to do his job, what is his security clearance? What other foreign intelligence operations has he compromised for political gain or punishment of "enemies"? Why is this man still in the White House?

Where is the outrage from the Democrats in Congress and the Senate? If this happened under Clinton, the Repub scream machine would be going full blast.

4. Didnt Martha Stewart go to prison for lying to investigators?
If Rove told the FBI he only spread the info AFTER Novaks column appeared, but hw now says he spoke to Cooper BEFORE Novak's column, then hasnt he committed the same crime?

7. Actually, she was lucky she got off so easy - being a woman AND a Dem...
Of course, I don't think she should have gone to jail, so there is one difference between her and Rove.

Bolton.

Was in charge of non-proliferation at State.

Had requested files on intelligence personnel.

Is a complete and utter bastard.

Is stalled in the Senate confirmation hearing because the Administration refuses to release the documents showing who Bolton was looking into.

Total unfounded speculation on my part, but Bolton fits in there beautifully. And it'd blow the shit out of this administration. Which might be why I so desperately WANT it to be Bolton.

*Edit - typo.

9. In the confirmation hearings....
wasn't one of the concerns about Bolton requesting the names of people in documents? Didn't he also make several verbal requests for names?
