As expected, the Dean supporters and their...
inferiority complex are in full force tonight!

Dean cannot beat Bush! Plain and simple, people.

Look what happened to Mondale. He wants to roll back the tax cut. That is political suicide.

Consumer confidence has already been destroyed and Dean is saying to people, "I'm going to take some more of your money."

Go ahead, college boys and girls, flame me!!!

1. I must agree in part!!!! Not all tax cuts are bad!
Taxes should be lowered on those making $25K or less!

Also the middle class should get a tax break too!

Small businesses should get a tax break and some tax credits to help their businesses survive the Bush economy!

and NO Mr. Lieberman, the rich do not need a tax cut!!!!

Cancel that portion and we can pay for more important things like veterans benifits, education, healthcare, and balancing the budget!

3. The *facts* indicate Dean is 46-49% versus Bush.
Well within the margin of error.

This is unsubstantiated in my opinion, and therefore flamebait.

4. Fellow Dean supporters: Let this stupid thread sink
Don't let this knee-jerk idiocy enrage you into responding. It's crap: you know it, I know it, everyone with an IQ in double digits knows it. Don't take the bait.

12. youre right
I get confused as much as you all do when I see these, I think he can win, I support Kucinich not only do I think he can win, but I like him on the issues, and I really like and admire him and respect him for showing that the American dream works, he grew up poor living in a car and is now a very talented and inspirational congressman and soon to be president. I dont get attacking Dean from the right honestly at DU that weirds me out. Dean can win, I think god willing they can all win.

6. News flash! Dean is not Mondale!
Walter Mondale didn't lose simply because of a "I will raise your taxes pledge". The real reasons are a little more complicated.

For one thing, for about half the country was arguably better off in 1984 than in 1980 (Never mind that most of the other half was completely screwed), which stands in stark contrast to today.

Second, Mondale was too associated with the old-fashioned Democratic Party. He was seen as an old face with old ideas and too closely associated with what was then seen as a failed Carter administration. (Please note: I like Jimmy Carter and I don't believe he was a failure)

Dean, on the other hand, is a new face with new ideas. He also has a strong record as governor.

14. I am finding it interesting that you are thinking Dean is tax and spend
In fact what makes him more moderate at least on economics than say Kerry or Kucinich or some of the others is he is fiscally conservative. Just an observation.

17. I'm sorry, I didn't realize that you made over $200k annually...
'cause unless you did, you're going to get a better deal with Dean's plan. Hell, long term, damn near EVERYBODY will do better, regardless of income.

You'd REALLY pass up affordable health care, better schools, better roads and bridges, more jobs and a stronger economy for the pittance you got from Bush?

Look, I DID save some bucks with the tax cuts, but I'd gladly surrender them for the things I listed above. What's your real issue? Yopu can't seriously be concerned with the money, even if it WAS a couple of grand...

10. Sorry that
Dean's ascendancy bothers you so much. A recent poll indicates 56% of
Americans support rolling back the tax cuts to pay for the 87 billion dollars for Iraq and Afghanistan.

I trust, if Dean wins the nomination, you'll vote for him.

15. Crystal balls
chicken entrails, tea leaves and other tools of prognostication are notoriously flawed.

So much can happen that it's impossible to make any sort of accurate prediction. I would point out to you, as well, that six months ago, every pundit in the country would have laughed themselves silly if they'd been told that Howard Dean, in September, would be the frontrunner and outraise Bill Clinton's best ever quarter.

and cause a flame war by putting down not only Howard Dean but his supporters. You don't have anything to add to any debate except to call names and smugly assert that Dean cannot win as if you know better than anyone. I think any of our candidates can win including Howard Dean because they are out there telling the truth about George W. Bush.
