Freeps "dream" Presidential speech and my response...
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 02:34 PM by Miss Chybil
My comments are within the speech... (on edit)...in italics.

The Speech of a Lifetime - We are all waiting for this day.

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT,
DEMOCRAT
OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans:

As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed.

You mean the subjugation of the Iraqi people, once again, under a foreign occupation who cares little for them, but loves their oil?

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our
mission in Iraq is complete.

I wish they'd stop sending our money to Iraq to be given over to Halliburton and the Bush Regime's other friends. Had they actually spent any of the money on reconstruction and given those jobs to Iraqis, the war would have been over back when George Bush announced "Mission Accomplished." Instead, they've used the money import foreign workers and goods into Iraq, all of which need to be guarded by American troops, leaving the Iraqi people without jobs, electricity, food, or hope.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now to begin the reckoning.

Yes, bring them home. The reckoning should begin with war crimes trials, with Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Rice, Rove, et. all, to include all members of the PNAC - Project for a New American Century - under indictment http://www.newamericancentury.org/

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

Don't forget Palau and any other country who was either complicit in this crime, or bullied into a false participation. Most countries in the "Coalition of the Willing" did not send troops and many don't even have armies. Tony Blair should be indicted with the others listed above.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the
world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

The fact most nations on this planet refused to join in the sodomization of a sovereign country and the incitement of civil war within that country should be a clue to some people. However, it's quite obvious some people have a firm belief they have the right to trample on, steal from, dictate to, bomb and murder other people in the name of their God and country. Terrorists harbor those same beliefs. It's a shame most of us have to be caught in the middle of this war between extremists. The majority of the earth's citizens would prefer to live in peace - raise their children and their crops. Gossip a little about each other, build a house and die in peace - of old age, after they've bounced a few grandchildren on their knees. Instead too many get to bury their kids. Kids who have been sent off to fight rich men's wars, or been led to believe the only way to overcome the rich and powerful is to blow themselves up - and anybody else they can get close to.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.

I thought the Iraqi war was to pay for itself? Instead $9 billion is missing. There is no reconstruction and today a family in Urbandale, California was told it was too dangerous to fly their son's body out of Iraq right now, so he could come home for his funeral. http://www.theiowachannel.com/family/4706633/detail.html
Did you know you can buy a family a goat is some of the most depressed regions of Africa (another breeding ground for terrorists) and Afghanistan and change their entire life and the lives of generations to come? How many goats could one buy with the money we spend on one bomb? How many hospitals, schools, AIDS medications and other drugs could we have bought with all the bombs dropped in Iraq.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

We just poured nearly $200 billion into Iraq. At least, $9 billion is missing. Who's getting fat on that?

Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

France spends a far higher percentage of their GDP on foreign aid than we do. I would like to think it was with fewer strings attached, but I can't say that. Most western countries, when they offer aid to "third world Hell-holes" do so under the condition those hell holes sign over the only things of value they have to foreign corporations - their natural resources. In Bolivia, even the rain water was privatized, (by Bechtel - if you follow the Iraqi story, that company should sound familiar to you), leaving the people unable to afford even the water they needed to survive and making it against the law to collect it from the skies. After many riots, the government of Bolivia has reclaimed the water for its people, but, Mexico is still scarred from the empirical aspirations of the Spanish and the French in the 18th and 19th centuries and the selling off of its natural resources to the highest bidder. Much like what is happening in Iraq today.

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home.

Would that we had the $200 billion we've spent in Iraq to spend here at home - developing alternative fuel sources, so we wouldn't find the need to entangle ourselves in the Middle-East. And, if we just took a couple billion of that to buy medicines and goats, or other livestock, for the starving people of the world I think we'd eliminate more terrorists - as opposed to creating new ones as we're doing now.

On that note a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

We made a good start in Afghanistan. What happened? Where's Osama?

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

Without France, Germany and other NATO countries we are sitting ducks for the likes of China. Considering China owns most of our national debt now, is developing an unquenchable thirst for oil and produces nearly everything we use everyday, we may be dead ducks already. But, barring a desire from China to become the next super-super-power, wishing a terrorist attack on them is not only evil, but would really raise prices at your favorite shopping place, Wal-Mart.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest
chop shops in the world. I love New York.

Everybody should pay their parking tickets.

A special note to our neighbors; Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

I'm sure the feeling's mutual.

Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government need a serious attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security. So, start doing something with your oil.

What are we going to steal their oil, too? I wonder how much border security $200 billion would have bought us? I'm sure the 1758 dead US soldiers would have love to patrol the border between the US and Mexico, instead of being sent off to die for nothing.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty; starting now. We are tired of the one-way highway.

You think George Bush wants to get rid of open trade agreements, or illegal immigration? That would mean his "base," those rich corporate cronies, would have to pay AMERICANS a fair wage, instead of allowing our wages to be driven down by foreign, third-world hell-hole, "I'll work for anything to feed my baby so I don't have to watch her die" standards. Are you kidding me? Basic corporate training teaches us, the best way to drive up profits is to drive down wages. Ask Wal-Mart. They're experts on the subject and so are all the US corporations who have taken our jobs to India and China and Bolivia. Heck, Mexico doesn't even get our jobs anymore. So many companies moved their after NAFTA it drove the wages in Mexico up way higher than the 7 cents a day they'd have to pay in India for a worker to make 60 to 70, $80 golf shirts, so they moved there! You people think George Bush cares about you or your little factory job? Hell no! They care about profits. Period.

Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an
environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above; pick a country and move there. They care.

If there only were enough oil in Alaska to last decades... we wouldn't be in Iraq today.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, "darn tootin."

How can we rule the world and be isolationists at the same time?

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America. To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

I guess propping up evil regimes (Saddam Hussein, the Saudis, Manuel Noriega, etc.) and funding terrorists (Osama bin Laden against the Soviets) is our way of helping other people have a better way of life. I think you're right here. They'd be better off without us.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

It might help to build communications and open a door for peace.... Of course, here we only need to speak "American" and anybody who doesn't like it, well....

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

I was a soldier for nine years. I didn't teach anybody to speak English, (most people in other countries actually learn a foreign language - like English), but I did learn a little German. Get a clue, the United States of America is not the axis of the earth. We are a part of it - a very small part. If you will look back at the arrogant regimes throughout history, you should be worried if we are to continue on this path. God bless everybody.

1. One thing this person might do is
Look at the federal budget and see how much goes to "foreign aid." It's an insignificant percentage, and anybody who thinks that money could solve a lot of American problems is not good at math.

I'm surprised there's nothing in there to "our friends in the media" or "our friends in the Democratic Party."

11. Percentage of GNI foreign aid listed by country - US second to last
The US gives HUGE sums of money - much more than any other country - but as a percentage of GNI given in aid, the only country who gives less is Italy. Norway gives the most.

6. After thinking about this a little more, I think there's some common
ground here. I get the impression the "author" of this "speech" wants out of Iraq and feels like we have our noses in too many countries' business. Could be a breakthrough? Too bad I didn't respond on that angle. I was too pissed over the arrogance.

7. The Freepers fail to mention that France is helping in the war
on al Qaeda by sharing intelligence with the US. They have decades of experience at fighting terrorism. Notice how few terrorist attacks take place in France.

Remember, the French tried to warn us about getting involved in SE Asia. We didn't listen then either.

8. A short list of allies? WTF? I thought that the Coalition was huge
made of of tons of countries...

Why, then, is the FReeper list of countries who were "on board" so short?

9. Freep-types write such great letters
Sure, they're irrational and uninformed, but this "dream speech" will be in a hundred million in-boxes by the end of the week. People I used to work with will still send me this shit, even after I've asked them not to, because they suspect that I might agree with one portion of one argument.

The right wing does this WELL, and IMO it's just as effective as all the AM hate radio shows combined.

10. If they just LISTENED to themselves once in a while, they might
realize their solutions to all problems - money and violence - only breed the need for more money and violence.

12. Poor freepers, so deluded
All that big talk and posturing, and so few facts:

Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come.

Try 27 days to 15 years. That's a far cry from "decades to come".

President Fox and his entire corrupt government need a serious attitude adjustment.

Ditto for President Chimpy and his entire corrupt government.

It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America.

Oh, but that would involve those nasty "government handouts" that the Rethugs detest. We can't have that now, can we? :sarcasm:

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

I wasn't aware that one of the soldier's many duties nowadays was teaching ESL courses, in addition to possibly beating and/or killing enemy troops.

Gotta love the freeper for trying though :eyes:

13. This is how soldiers teach English...
This was one of my pet peeves about my American brethren while I was stationed in Germany. We go into town to go shopping. It's a sleepy German village and most the older shop keepers can't, or are embarrassed to speak English. My friends, instead of trying to speak German - in Germany - they just kept speaking English LOUDER! I ask them, "So, is the volume of the conversation any aid to the translation?" AUGH!

14. We Americans can be so arrogant
Which is why some other countries detest us so. We go to foreign countries and get uppity when we can't find anybody who can speak English--but we have made no attempt to speak the language of that country!:eyes:

Very nicely done, but you're still arguing with an imbecile. It's sort of like getting all holes in one on the mini golf course.
