Rove was trying to convince Time NOT to run a false story!

4. this is an attempt to deflect from DSM (fixing the intelligence)
Rove's lawyer was quoted in the Washington Post story yesterday, saying the same thing, only I didn't quite get it at first.

I believe they are saying that the only reason Karl was chatting with Cooper about Wilson is because he was doing US a service, trying to prevent Cooper from furthering the niger/uranium story which was about to be revealed as a phoney by George Tenent. He wanted to be sure Cooper understood that he should not claim that the admin was supporting the Niger/Uranium story.. because they all now understood it was false.

They are trying to break the link between Karl's Plame leak, and their plot to fix the intelligence.

Weak!
