I'll be interested to see what Lou's pposition is on this. Earlier in the show he remarked, (negatively) about how the WH has changed it's position on this Plame case in the last 2 years!

1. Lou's politics

because of Lou's position on illegal immigration a lot of people
believe he's a conservative republican.

He is a Republican but he has publicly stated "a pox on both houses"
and considers both parties to be purchased by multinational corporations.

Lou Rocks...he has ethics even if you don't agree with all of his positions and he's critical for covering issues that multinational
corporations do not want you to know about.

Lou Dobbs should be MANDATORY for anyone who is a progressive...Unlike Wolf the Whore, he has been a vocal critic of this administration, from Iraq to Social Security, from outsourcing American jobs to illegal immigration. I watch Lou Dobbs and did so in 2002. I didn't see any real chicken hawk stuff...

he has also had repeatedly people on who have discussed the lack
of homeland security, over and over, discussed DoD contracts
not delivering (150M FBI contract, covered Accenture 10B contract
who is offshore outsourcing, extensively)...

He does a "heros" thing for the troops but in terms of the war
Aaron Brown was WAY WAY WAY more of a Bush puppet.

He was HORRIBLE! He was DISGUSTING! I have told this story here many times, but for you, I shall repeat it.

One night Lou was reading an email from a viewer and she was reading him the riot act for his chearleading for the war. (He was SOOOOOOOO BLATANTLY REPUKE) She told him he should keep his personal opinions to himself and he told her, ON CAMERA, "Too bad if you don't like my support of this war and my president. I do support this war and Bush is my president and I support him in whatever he does. If you don't like it, switch the channel."

I kid you not! THAT was the LAST time I ever watched the bastard. He makes me sick.

I do know this....Lou was kind of a corporate pony and then
slowly but surely, he started to "get it"...

now the Bush administration absolutely hates him, has put enormous, I mean enormous pressure to get him to stop covering trade, offshore outsourcing and so forth
and Lou didn't bend.

I think it helps that Lou Dobbs has founder stock in CNN...but he is one of the few refusing to kowtow to multinationals.

I also know his producers have pushed back and tried some pretty
screwed up things and had him do it...then a little bit later he seems
to get control of the show back and things are more on track.

For awhile, Lou was off and they had John King reading the corporate mantra, non-stop. It was disgusting.

So, if he screwed up (and I never saw anything like this on Lou Dobbs)
he sure wasn't the only one....so bear in mind there is A LOT of politics going on and he is forgiven for he alone has interviewed repeatedly labor, objective economists and the like, getting the word
out on what is really going on plus he has had Bill Moyers on multiple times to talk about the gagging of the press.

He is fundamentally of a different political spectrum than liberals..
but I do not care for he is aware that for capitalism to work
you have to have a mixed economy (social safety nets, progressive
tax structure, regulation and so on), plus he reports on labor..
*the* only one!

Reality is we had most Democrats being Gun ho for war and I just
about puked I mean how could anyone be so stupid!

The majority had their heads up their ass plus CNN was clearly part of the Bush corporation propaganda machine...as a corporate agenda.
I think Aaron Brown plain ruined his career over his coverage.

5. But give the guy credit....

Once he realized that the war was based on a lie (which makes one wonder why he didn't realize it sooner when everyone ELSE did), he did what our Fearless Leader refused to do and changed course. And unlike Der Fuhrer, he does mention those of our men and women who have perished in this war/oil heist.

8. I thought Dobbs did a good job moving Gergin back to the issue.

Obviously, Gergen was being a Rove apologist here -- and Dobbs questions certainly made that crystal clear. The only thing Gergen was outraged about was Judy Miller!

Thought it was interesting that Dobbs finished the interview by saying "we still don't know who sent Joe Wilson to Niger" -- and Gergen had to agree.

Gergen was nauseating making that talking-point distinction between "Joe Wilson's wife" and "Valerie Plame". That's some pretty thin whitewash to paint with.

He has on soo many Democrats talking about workers right legislation,
anti-corruption legislation and on and on who of course get their
legislation buried.

He was so "hot" on Kerry pretty much due to trade agreements, but
he had on many of Kerry's economic advisors and was pretty much
pushing those advisors for agenda that was for the middle class
right on the air.

I'm looking for a reporter to ask the tough questions, and not be afraid to disagree with a guest. Lou does both.

You may disagree because you soo so many RW reporters supporting Shrub, and I can see that, but to me, Lou seems to be the only reporter on TV that calls foul on both side when he thinks they're wrong. That's why I watch Lou every day. Many of the others, I've managed to get through 2 minutes and clicked them off!

call a spade a spade, no matter on what side of the aisle the spade resides.

A free and unfettered press is supposed to protect and inform the public, not shill for any political party.

26. Let's not confuse responsible journalism with the crap we've been

subjected to in the last ten years. Please. Now that the house of cards is falling, everyone is going to claim to be a proponent of a REAL free press. The reality is that anyone who had a bite in the past ALSO HAD A POLITICAL AGENDA. Lou Dobbs was no exception.

And THAT, my friend, is the truth if you can handle it.
