Rove/Plame Yes, But Don't Forget
I sincerely hope that the pressure continues on all fronts:media, legislature, and voters, regarding the outing of Valerie Plame. However, I do notice that this issue has pushed the DSM way into the background. Our representatives, and the voting public cannot insist on riding a single horse into this battle. We have to keep up the pressure on all fronts.

2. they are the same issue
DSM is not the issue.
Plame is not the issue.

the issue is lying to the public and lying to congress about the reasons for war

DSM and plame are both parts of the greater issue.

3. They do tie in though- remember this all goes back to fixing the
intelligence for war and to what exent they went to manipulate the intelligence-- the leak was a vindictive act because they got information they did want to hear from wilson.

4. We at DU may see these things, BUT
can the media, and our representatives tie them together in a coherent message that points to the heart of this administration's disdain for democracy? Myopia has been rampant for the last few years.

7. The Plame outing is just a part of the whole picture
This administration believes, to a person, that the end justifies the means. The end is unlimited, unstoppable power concentrated in the hands of the neocons in the White House and Pentagon. They see that as a good thing for the country because they believe in their own exceptionalism and superiority.

The Plame case, while extremely important, is just a slice of the whole. It is one more thing that shows how far the neocons and the political operatives are willing to go to reach the neocon's desired result. Again, they place themselves above the law and everyone else under it (just like in the torture scandal, the illegal Bush doctrine, the voting scams, the Patriot Act, campaign finance and lobbyist corruption, and so many other things.)

The Plame thing is at the forefront because, for good or bad, it is the thing that has caught the attention of the media. As long as the media sleeps, corrupt entities in the government can do ANYTHING. Thank god SOMETHING got their attention!
