They make styrofoam and toothpick models of economic possibilities, but you know, those models don't do so well when you take them outside of a sanitized lab and put them in the open where they get exposed to natural elements. There are so many variables that these Right-wingers leave out of their formulas.
My favorite argument against free marketers was this: I told them, when the market collapses, as it eventually does, and people start starving to death and the government is forced to establish regulations in order to prevent anarchy, did you ever consider that those regulations were part of the free market system?
There is a breaking point beyond where civilized people will not go. And that's the point where people at the top, like Lou Dobbs, discover that they're spending more time and money to protect what they have, than they have to make it.
