After Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman fired a salvo at Democrats' attacks on Karl Rove, saying they were bending to the "MoveOn" wing of the party, MoveOn responded in kind, accusing the RNC and the White House of a coverup.

"Karl Rove betrayed the identity of an undercover CIA operative--destroying her national security work. Now Ken Mehlman, Scott McClellan, the RNC and the White House are engaged in a political cover up of Karl Rove's leak.


"Rove was trying to kill a story critical of the Bush Iraq policy--he was trying to undermine Ambassador Joe Wilson’s credibility. Now, as we all know, Joe Wilson was telling the truth.

President Bush still needs to answer some critical questions: What did he know? When did he know it? And why did he fail to act?
