Backing great writers because I want too... (Chris Floyd)

Chris Floyd... is my favourite journalist - columnist. It's pretty simple.

He writes the weekly Global Eye political column for The Moscow Times and St. Petersburg Times. His work also appears in The Ecologist, The Nation, CounterPunch, Christian Science Monitor, Bergen Record, Columbia Journalism Review and elsewhere around the world. He is the author of the book, Empire Burlesque: The Secret History of the Bush Regime. His columns are featured each week on Bush Watch. He has been a writer and editor for more than 20 years, working in the United States, Great Britain and Russia for various newspapers, magazines, the U.S. government and now works for Oxford University as a freelance journalist and as a writer and researcher.

I noticed on his blog recently - http://www.empireburlesquenow.blogspot.com/ that he was feeling a little weary of the slowdown of his site - and, though he has a hardcore following (including myself), summer tapering time was hitting his blog like many others.

So, I have been working closely with him to build a new home using the latest in Content Management Software (CMS) called Mambo 4.52 and spent the better part of a week firing him up to make the shift to something completely new and on the cutting edge of Open Source Software.

I did it because I felt this was one of the best ways I could give something to the movement - more valuable than the few euro that I have at the moment.
