The Grand Theft Auto: SA Sex Scandal
Ok, this is pretty damn hilarious to me. We have a game where you can cut people to pieces with a chainsaw and people are only complaining about some secret sex minigame that can be unlocked with a patch off of the Internet. BTW, I've seen it since I own the PC version. It's pretty lame but funny to see for a few seconds.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The industry group that sets ratings for video games is probing whether hidden features within the blockbuster title "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas" allows players to make their characters engage in simulated explicit sex acts.

The series of criminal adventure games from Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. subsidiary Rockstar Games has been among the best selling in history, while drawing sharp criticism for encouraging gratuitous violence.

If the investigation were to lead to a rating change from M (Mature 17+) to AO (Adult Only), it could limit sales from major retail outlets..."

1. Ah, Grand Theft Auto.
The only game where you can go swimming with dolphins, shoot pool in a bar at 2 AM, go on a helicopter ride in the mountains, or beat a police officer to death with a double headed dildo.

9. You can swim with dolphins?
Can you also beat the dolphins over the head with a double dildo and then chop them into pieces?

12. No.
You can't swing the dildo underwater.

I do think you maybe able to land a car on top of the dolphins and then get the car to explode.

But I don't think the programmers designed the dolphins to be killable, unfortunately. Maybe in the next game.

15. You've given the matter way too much thought...

Anyway, try to kill the dolphins and get back to me about how it works out, ok?

4. I think games like this
are the only thing that keeps me from going and beating the shit out of people that are so weak, such as these cretins. I've played these games all my life and am a pacifist Buddhist. I don't even eat meat for goodness sake. A majority of those who play these games are similar to me (in the non-violence sense), but it's the old jesus freaks on the hill that want to make our lives a little more controlled.

Remember all...WWJD in San Andreas?

5. If it needs to be 'unlocked with a patch off the internet'
How can they give the game an "AO" rating since it doesn't come that way?

Heck, by that measure, 'The Sims' should definitely be rated 'AO' for example. Have you seen the mods people have made for it? (or so I've heard, anyway...).

Silly, silly censors.

6. The Content Is In The Disk - Instructions On How To Unlock It
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 02:40 PM by InfoMinister
Pretty much the patch just activates it. Rockstar disabled the content before its release and didn't remove it entirely. It can be unlocked on the PS2 and Xbox versions as well. It's just a lot harder to do.

You can check out how to unlock the minigame at the following site

8. They should give Microsoft Paint an AO rating.
You can make some very dirty pictures with that program.

10. I'm trying to figure out why a game in which you beat people to death..
..does not automatically come with an AO.

Ahhh.. America. Where you can watcho or simulate vicious murders, but people have a fucking cow if you show sex. We are twisted.

20. Funny
I was watching Terminator 2: Judgement Day on Bravo. This was on basic cable and at around 9 PM.

It amused me that all the violent scenes were left in (and there were quite a few), but all the swear words were bleeped out.

The double standards are very strange indeed.

13. So, here's the email I sent to the Media and the Family Institute
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 03:04 PM by IanDB1
http://www.mediafamily.org/about/contact.asp

So, let me get this straight:

Your concern is that parents might buy their kids one of the most twisted, ultra-violent games of all times and not be aware that if their kids visit a website that they shouldn't be allowed to visit, these kids might be exposed to simulated sex acts?

I'm sorry, but parents who allow their kids to play this sort of game AND allow them unfettered access to questionable websites are not very likely to get all worked-up about this.

It's like going to a science museum and getting all worked-up when the IMAX movie mentions Evolution.

You know, people are starving in Africa, there are homeless people on the streets of our cities, children are being bought and sold as sex-slaves around the world.

And you're worried that an ultra-violent video game that isn't meant for children might have sexual content that's even LESS meant for children?

Go feed the hungry or cure the sick. That's what Jesus would do, isn't it?

16. Good email.
I've often wondered about those parents who scream bloody murder about what they found after they bought the game, but never took the time to think, "Hmmm, maybe a game called GRAND THEFT AUTO with a Mature rating may not be appropriate for 13-year-old little Billy."

17. Thanks! Hey, let's design "Bible Mods" to ultra-violent games
Edited on Tue Jul-12-05 03:12 PM by IanDB1
Plug-ins that let people reenact violent and sexual scenes from "The" Bible.

You know, like the ones where God commands that the heads of infants be smashed against the rocks.

Psalm 137:8-9 O Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction,
happy is he who repays you for what you have done to us- he who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

Psalm 137:9 How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones Against the rock.

And some of the sexual ones, too...

She never slowed down. The whoring she began while young in Egypt she continued, sleeping with men who played with her breasts and spent their lust on her...She exhibited her sex to the world...She went at her whoring harder than ever. She remembered when she was young, just starting out as a whore in Egypt. That whetted her appetite for more virile, vulgar, and violent lovers--stallions obsessive in their lust. She longed for the sexual prowess of her youth back in Egypt, where her firm young breasts were caressed and fondled.
