Question about Bush's 80 billion dollar package...
How much is going to giving Iraq area codes and ZIP codes?

13 billion or 13 million?

1. In the words of the late Sen. Everett McKinley Dirksen, ...
..."a billion here, a billion there. Pretty soon, we're talking about real money."

BTW, the Bush request was for $87 BILLION, not 80.

2. I'm unclear on something...
Is that just for one year, or total. I think it's just one year, but Letterman seemed to think it was the total deal.

4. That's one (1) year.
We're gonna be there for decades.

Don't forget to add the request to the seventy-something billion dollars that we've already spent there.

It adds up to about $155 BILLION dollars for the current year.

6. Questions
If you want to question the 87 Billion for Iraq and Afghanistan, fine, but I don't hear anyone asking questions when it comes to some sort of entitlement program that we were doing fine with out but now we'll all die if we don't get, like that prescription drug plan. I'd like to know where every penny of that is going and I'd like to see an exit stratigy.

7. You're right ... they'll die.
The pills keep them healthy.

Just wondering, what would you do if you couldn't afford both food and life-maintenance drugs?

Sincerely awaiting a reply.

People WILL die and are dying if they aren't able to buy prescription drugs. And I would rather spend money on people in our own country who are in need than hand it over to all of Bush's buddies controlling the no-bid contracts in Iraq.

3. These questions should be left up to the "Coalition of the Willing"

...afterall, they are the ones funding and providing troops for the effort, from their secret headqurters in Bulgaria.

The UN is "irrelevant"- but thank goodness- for Bush/media assured us that have a mighty COALITION OF THE WILLING!!!!!
