My LTTE: Republican Political Gamesmanship
It's become evident that the Karl Rove scandal involving the outing of a covert CIA operative demonstrates a character flaw within the GOP. When this scandal originally broke, George W. Bush stated emphatically that anybody involved would be fired, yet he's singing a different tune today. Everything I'm hearing from Republicans on the news shows supports protecting Rove in this case. This demonstrates the character flaw of putting partisan political gamesmanship above national security and puts every American in mortal jeopardy.

Shouldn't Americans expect more from those elected to uphold and defend the constitution from all enemies, both foreign and domestic?

2. Looks fine to me
Good. Short and to the point. I might re-cast the final sentence to read "Don't the American people deserve more from those . . ." The Republicans absolutely love to use the locution "the American people" as if we all think and believe exactly alike, and that they know best what that is. Besides shoving that right up their tailpipe, I actually do think the American people expect and deserve the truth rather than political gamesmanship when it comes to such sober matters as going to war (not to mention our government's obligation to be truthful with the troops, who have agreed to lay aside their regular lives and possibly lay down their lives).

3. I had to get in the term "character flaw"
and then just to ram it home, get it in again.

CHARACTER FLAW
CHARACTER FLAW
CHARACTER FLAW
CHARACTER FLAW
CHARACTER FLAW
CHARACTER FLAW

That should eb our frame on this one.

4. Probably wise to shove one phrase at a time up their tailpipe
There are plenty of them to shove: character flaw, the American people, hard work, etc., etc.
