"Hey mister, nice hat!"
I can't believe I stopped my car on the way to work, on a side road, because a guy who was walking on the side of the road going the opposite direction had a K/E hat on.

I yelled the above from about a half a block away where I'd stopped. He looked puzzled but said thanks and waved. As I got back in my car he just kind of watched me for a moment but then continued on my way.

I live in Sensenbrenner's district (WI-5), so that might explain why I'd be so thrilled to see a K/E hat on somebody walking down the road I'd pull over and acknowledge it.

Just the same, I feel kinda like a dork.

Anybody else do stuff like that?

1. yes
I live in Utah and have progressive bumper stickers. If I see people with the same kind of bumperstickers or a K/E sticker, I pass their car so they can see my stickers. :)

2. I once followed a guy who had both Gore and Kerry stickers on
his car, just to compliment him on backing the winners of the last two elections.

3. I don't know why he would look puzzled.
Maybe he forgot he had it on?

9. Maybe if we could have talked for a minute or two
the encounter seemed almost incomplete in a way. It was more the hesitation before proceeding that made me think he was puzzled.

5. I regularly do that.
I take walks around the neighborhood and often comment to people about their bumper stickers, yard signs, whatever. They always laugh and thank me.

I'm in a pretty liberal neighborhood.

cat
bat
rat
mat
rat
pat

But at least he said thanks.

12. Yes. Whenever I see good bumper stickers and I get a chance, I
always try to give whoever's driving that car a thumbs-up or other token of appreciation.

I hollered over to one old fellow in a small car (with Kerry/Edwards and other things like "Impeach" and "DE-Select in 2004" that I liked his bumper stickers. He responded with something rather thought-provoking. He acknowledged it and pointed out that - these bumper stickers are the kind that are staying on. It's those OTHER guys who are all trying to scrape theirs off. I nodded and then tried to speed up when the light changed so he could see MY bumper stickers and know how much of a sympathizer I was.

I do that ALL THE TIME. Whenever I get the chance. I think ALL Good Guys need positive reinforcement as often as possible.

13. When I see a "W" sticker on a car,
I maneuver in front of him so he can see my W-not sticker.
